Tammy Abraham

An excellent season in return of goals but performances haven’t been great.

It’s a shame though because he’s constantly compared to Giroud, who is miles ahead in terms of holding the play up and bringing midfielders into the game.  Tammy could only dream of Giroud’s intelligence and first touch.

He’s a decent squad player at the moment but he needs to significantly improve his all round game if he wants to make it here.

I think 15 goals sounds great though with the chances we were creating I think he should have had 25 or more.

Credit to the kid with no EPL experience he had a go and was not terrible yet not top drawer either.

I think next season he clearly will not be No.1.

Brilliant from the big man tonight. His link up play was fantastic, holding the ball up, winning headers, brining his team mates in to play. He managed to grab his goal as well which was thoroughly deserved. Two assists for Havertz and heavily involved in the third. The chemistry the two of them showed was amazing to watch, it was as if they’d been playing together for years. It would be interesting to see if we could Tammy and Tomori in the same team. Top performance from the young man tonight.

Great performance by Abraham tonight. Might be a poor opponent, but his decisions were amazing.

The link up with Havertz is something Lampard can work on, before his assists, he took his goal very well. Showed aggression, quick reaction and clinic finish.

Would like to see him starting with Werner and Havertz.

I've oft derided Abraham on here, but it's fair to say he had a very decent game for us this evening. Hopefully it'll be the first of many decent nights and link ups with Havertz.

Can't put into words how good he was last night. Link up play was some of the best i've seen from a Chelsea striker since Giroud in the EL final under Sarri.

MOTM for me last night.

I thought he was great, and his link up play was fantastic, as it was last autumn aswell to be honest.

He looks like he is going to raise his game to compete, as the likes of Terry, Lampard, and Drogba have done before him.

Elite mentality.

Still the best goal scorer at the club. I didn't watch him last night, but i never doubted him, i knew as soon as he gets his chance he'll score, and keep scoring, those that judged him as not good enough towards the end of the season forget one thing, every striker comes in and out of form, even the very very best.

He showed an entirely new facet to his game with the wonderful linkup! Not everyone can pull off a dummy or even consider it 🙂 great signs!

Today's performance showed again why Abraham isn't good enough.

His attitude is so poor. When he scored the equaliser, his first thought was to run off and celebrate and soak up the glory, rather than get it back to the centre spot to grab the winner.

Barnsley is definitely about his level.

I have a bit of a rule i stick to when it comes to strikers, i started doing it when Morata was here, when he scored i always gave him a break, even if he played crap, as long as he got his goal that's his job done. Maybe you should try it out, or you'll have a coronary when he doesn't score. 💔

I think that's a bit of a silly criticism tbf. Although yes, he did have a poor game, but he still scored the most important goal of the game. The criticism about his celebration is just silly.

When a striker is having a bad day, it hurts the team. We had Abraham and Werner in a poor performance, but one moment of proper position, proper touch and that goal means a lot.

We played for the first time the combo of Abraham, Werner and Havertz and the game went totally different because of our stupid mistakes in the defense.

Imagine you scoring a goal like that in that minute, why don't celebrate?

Anyways, if he wants to become a better striker, then he had to finish those chances he had.

Credit to Abraham for stepping up after what happened last year in the Super Cup Shootout

I can see him developing into a leader and big personality, brings passion and aggression to the team

Apparently the boys broke the rule for maximum 6 people in one gathering. Hope it comes to nothing. So naive again.

I think t was a surprise bday party for him at his home. Would have been difficult to avoid I guess !
