November 24, 201510 yr job done in style after all, I for one was moaning about not enough set pieces being capitalized on so far this season, so seeing them executed today perfectly is a plus set up an exciting last match day for the group, although I'd rather have a dead cert today, but thanks to Casillas for the howler Kiev are in the mix
November 24, 201510 yr Decent performance, Fabregas and Costa were our worst players, probably since the beginning of the season.
November 24, 201510 yr And those goals don't count as much? f**king w**kers! 4-f**king-nil away from home and still you muppets whinge? Tossers That's a bit harsh, Joey is usually one of the most positive fans on here. I don't think he deserves to be called a f**king w**ker and a tosser just because he has a different view than us, and it's not like he is on a wind up or anything. It's football for f**k sake, what is the point of this petty name calling ?
November 24, 201510 yr Decent result, below par performance though. Baba's cross was awesome, and something we don't do enough of. Costa is a shadow of the player he was last year, hopefully this isnt permanent but it isnt looking good.
November 24, 201510 yr I'm confused about what happens if we draw with Porto and Kiev beat Maccabi. All 3 would have 11 points. Porto's head to head against us would be better than us but Kiev's head to head v Porto would put Kiev ahead of Porto and our head to head v Kiev has us ahead of them????? In short, a 'mini-group' is created between the three teams who are level on points (i.e. including all the results except the games against Tel-Aviv). So that would be: Porto 2-1 Chelsea Porto 0-2 Dynamo Kiev Dynamo Kiev 2-2 Porto Dynamo Kiev 0-0 Chelsea Chelsea 2-1 Dynamo Kiev Chelsea D-D Porto Everyone having lost one, drawn one, and won one means it would go down to goal difference. As the only win by more than a goal was the Kiev - Porto game, Kiev would be top, we'd be second, and Porto last. If this does happen, Casillas' absolute mare on the second goal will have really screwed them. 1) Dynamo Kiev 4pts +1 GD 2) Chelsea 4 points =0 GD 3) Porto 4 points -1 GD

He just says it's somethig to be concered about, and frankly I agree with him. Our attacks from open play didn't look as dangerous as they should. However it doesn't make me (or Joey I'd imagine) any less happy with the goals. Just naming a concern doesn't mean you're not happy. Edited November 24, 201510 yr by CFCholland

November 24, 201510 yr I'm a bit disappointed by the performance to be honest, with 10 men they outplayed us for something like 20-30 minutes of the 2nd half, in the end they tired out but if Ben Haim wasn't so stupid it might've been different. Their manager's half time tinker simply beat Jose's tactics.
November 24, 201510 yr How has this prick not been banned yet? It's not even pricks like that who annoy me. It's the mods. Put me in whatever category you like, but i'm a firm believer of freedom of speech, as well as consequences when you exercise that freedom in less than sensible ways. The mods should ban such people and me as well if i cross that line.
November 24, 201510 yr We win with 4 goals and some people cry that they are not from open play? Chelsea fans logic mate lol Very good performance. Confidence is there. Roll on Spuds.
November 25, 201510 yr Great win, but we didn't really look to have a man advantage at times, and the lack of ambition to either Shoot or for Costa to make a move are both causes for concern. What I can't understand is people being upset about goals coming our way in any shape, form, or fashion. Think about it. A set piece, and we are dangerous, the breeds confidence in the players, and puts doubt in the opposition. Look at Willian. If he's fouled outside of the area, people are calling it "Willian's territory here" in anticipation. You know defenders are also upset to have given away a free kick in that area because of what he can do. Also, if we have confidence from corners, that could beneficial late in games when we need a goal. Throw Gazza, Babba, Terry, whomever up there because they've shown they can score. Also...Barca....holy impressiveness.

November 25, 201510 yr Our finishing in open play was a concern, though credit to their keeper for the saves from hazard and Azpi. Great crossing by baba, motm for me. Crazy porto lost at home, but it gives us everything in our own hands now. Win and we top the group, avoid defeat and we go through. Cannot really say that is unfair.
November 25, 201510 yr Scoreline flattered us somewhat. But wins a win. Would have took a 1 nil for all I care. However in all honesty we should have been a goal down within 5 minutes. Against a better team we would have got done on the counter numerous times but maybe Jose knew they weren't a better team? So he let us push up knowing that the risk of them scoring on the break was minimal? Wishful thinking but could be truth. Oscar was woeful today in my opinion did nothing. Fabregas played some great passes today. On to Spurs next, very nervous for that one with the form they're in.
November 25, 201510 yr We don't score enough goals in open play because the man leading the line is sh*te (Costa). Get us a top striker (on form) and that will change. Staggering to see how far DC has fallen in just 12 months.
November 25, 201510 yr The scoreline doesn't matter much to me now. All I care about is victory. I'm glad that we won this game. It'd serve as a confidence boost for our game against Spurs this weekend. Onwards and upwards lads.
November 25, 201510 yr We won and kept another clean sheet. Two in a row. Can't complain, in fact am rather pleased!

He gets practically undressed by his opponent. Edited November 25, 201510 yr by Valerie
November 25, 201510 yr Beat Porto = We go through and Porto go out. Draw = We go through and Porto go out. Lose = We're out and Porto go through. Any more questions? If we draw last game and Kiev win, that will be 3 sides with 11 points. So how do we go through and Porto go out when they have the better head to head record against us? When 3 sides have same record, does it then go down to goal difference? Thankfully ours is way better. We can't afford to f**k about in that last game. I don't want to see a defensive, negative performance. Hate to think we could still crash out and Arsenal go through. Let's blow Porto away and have the job done early.

November 25, 201510 yr My ten cents; A win and a clean sheet again breed good habits. Big test on Sunday to see if we have turned a corner Costa was frighteningly bad The second half had absolutely nothing to do with Jokanavic out thinking Jose tactically, individual mistakes and performances were the problem The pitch caused a lot of the problems

November 25, 201510 yr 4-0 away from home in Europe. I'll take that, are people really moaning? Also that pitch was a pile of dog turd, and still I thought we knocked it around pretty well. A bit slow at times but we were winning. I am reasonably optimistic for Spurs, there will be space we can exploit and the last 3 performances have been much better.
