Chelsea vs. Watford (PL) Boxing Day KO 3pm GMT

Featured Replies

Festive greetings Blues,

Over at the unofficial Watford forum - www.WFCforums.com - we usually do a pre-match write up, and as I live in Cobham I've put my hand up to cover the Chelsea vs Watford game in a few weeks time.

Even though I'm surrounded by Blues fans (even under my own roof), I wanted to get a less biased view of our upcoming game. Sadly, I couldn't find anyone so thought I'd ask the biggest and best unofficial Chelsea forum (you guys of course) if you'd be kind enough to answer a few questions via the following link

Thanks in advance for your help, good luck tomorrow night against Porto and for the rest of the season ... there's no shame in finishing mid-table y'know.

Regards,

My daughter chelsea and her fellow Gavin will be in attendance at this one..Upper shed i believe......they will see watford brought down to earth on a great boxing day.....ME....Ill be watching Star wars

this is the true test as to whether yesterday wasn't a fluke. no ake for them at lb so should make attacking their left wing a bit easier.

Deeney nearly won the game on his own liverpool couldn't get near him, and he has a great understanding with his fellow sriker Ighalo

Klopp has lost the dressing already. It was obvious watching today that some players weren't trying.

It's going to be a tough game. We can't disrespect Watford, but I got a feeling that we're coming back to our best. Who knows maybe Hiddink play different formation and might play some fresh players.

Anyways I'd like to see this starting line:

--------------------- Courtois ------------------------

Azpi -------- Terry ----- Zouma -------------- Baba

---------- Loftus-Cheek ---- Matic -------------------

-------------------- Oscar --------------------------------

Willian -------------------------------------------- Pedro

------------------- Remy -------------------------------

COME ON CHELS!!!!!!!!!!!

We better treat them with some respect, they could embarrass us if we aren't careful. In terms of team selection, the only real issue is Costa. Unless Hiddink has some magic wand to put him back to form, we need Remy or even Falcao to start. We have to win this, it's relegation battle time again if we can't.

Tactically Watford tend to play 2 up front which may suit us with Matic dropping back into the 'half back' position to give us a spare man - would like to think Mikel will start instead of Fabregas. Will be interesting to see if Hazard starts if fit.

Tibo

Ivanovic -- Zouma -- Cahill -- Azpi

Matic -- Mikel

Willian -- Oscar -- Pedro

Remy

Chels 2-0

That or Matic plays those same forwards in like he did against Sunderland.

Perfect, Klopp gets sacked and he can replace Guus at the end of the season

Good win for them yesterday. 3-0 v Liverpool.

A very hard game for us.

Definitely, the were purring against Liverpool, although the dippers were sh't too. It's really about their front men who looks very strong at the moment and stopping them. I think we can hurt them though with our attacking players and their back line. Oscar was obviously immense against Sunderland, and one has to assume he will get the chance to repeat the performance in this one, with Hazard slotting in for Pedro. Can't really see Hiddink making any huge changes here, although he might play with two strikers which means dropping Willian, Hazard or Oscar (not easy).*

Back-four seems pretty clear too. Will be difficult, but we really have no choice but to beat them. No more hiccups I am afraid, and as the painful Mourinho circus is steadily put behind us, I hope we can find our groove and push on. I believe we will!

* I do wonder, though, whether the whole sub-plot with Hazard means he is effectively a goner in the transfer window.

Ighalo is on fire. Zouma needs to be at his best

And some - a youngster with some potential but by Christ the lad looks lost at times.  I'm not saying he isn't quick and doesn't make some very good tackles but he's not good enough for us at the moment esp' with JT clearly on his last legs.  Hardly a CB pairing made in heaven.
