What ? Dress what up

We can make all sorts of excuses as to why a bunch of no-hopers are top of the league and we (and the other big teams) are messing about playing lousy football and getting nowhere. Something fundamental needs to change

Do you know the thing I like best about Leicester.... 4-4-2. That's what they play in the main, or variations of it. No messing around with 2 dm's and no width, a striker isolated or pissing around with the ball at the back. Just plain and simple 4-4-2 with pace, attacking intent and aggression. I honestly think it's just been a perfect fit through luck more than judgement with the Leicester squad being ideal for the tinkermans basic gameplan, and I bloody hope we take heed of this for next season.

I love 442 aswell. It's refreshing to see it thriving again. I think teams have gotten so used to the variants of 433, that a lot of teams are struggling up against a well organised and dynamic 442. I would love to see us play 2 up top again, but we have a squad of players that full of players that play number 10, and we don't have a player that could play as a 2 with fabregas.

With Manchester City getting Pep Guardiola and Manchester United looking like getting Jose Mourinho if we don't get this next appointment right we're most likely looking at another barren few years watching the trophies get divided up north.

TBH looking at that list Diego Simeone is the only remaining stand out.

Not sure about Simeone. His style is too aggressive, borderline, and I don't see some of our players giving up technique for tackles that go to hurt the opponent. On the other hand, we need a manager that brings pace, intensity and get the players working together.

I am also completely in favour of a 4-4-2 and I hope Pato can play together with Costa.

Italy is more competitive than Spain. And Juve have more or less the same to spend as Athletico. Conte specifically built his Juve on free transfers

It's the same level of difficulty to win the league in Spain with Atletico Madrid against Real Madrid and Barcelona as it is to win the league in Italy with Juventus against... that Italian side that can spend equal amounts of cash as Barcelona and Real Madrid that presumably exists?

Have you seen how many points Juve have won the league by in recent years. They will win they the league this year aswell as its like PSG in France and Bayern in Germany. Juve just started bad.

Title wise it's much more competitive in Spain than Italy. Specially being the Athletico manager against Barca and Real.

Yeah you would have to say that winning league is harder I Spain than Italy due to the dominance of Barca and Real.

By all accounts, the club are looking for a supposedly calmer manager rather than a controversial manager.

Simeone please. Want a powerhouse, hardworking and solid team that doesn't concede much rather than a team that will leak goals and pass the ball around for days.

Hazard and Matic would very much struggle in a Simeone system though, however the same was said about Griezmann but not only has he made him harder working but he hasn't lost any ability doing it.

Don't care about the whole "controversial" manager ideology. As long as he's not doing anything illegal then it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Rralistically there is no one special who is available...........I am past caring who our next manager will be......who ever it is .........they are only likely to last about 18 to 24 months from going through the revolving manager door, based on the previous 10 years.

I would like to see us recruit a more experienced proper football man to replace Emanelo, however that probably won't happen, because Emenelo is Romans friend and spy. I can always dream !

My other wish........is for our new manager to show more interest in giving our youth players more chances ........to facilitate a change in the way we play, I.e for us to play a much faster attacking style of play

There is no stand out candidate that is available..........who ever it is Good Luck to them, they will need it ! ....Come on Chels !

The game has moved on, and the era of the messiah is over (see PL table).  Managers should get on with their jobs, in silence where possible. If ManU get anything today, LVG will say they can still win the title, and I will SCREAM!

I honestly don't see how Unai Emery isn't being linked to this job, His Sevilla side plays the style of football i think Chelsea fans are craving for, I would say it's a mix of Di Matteo's fluidity and Mourinho's pragmatism, He's beaten both Barca and Real this year, Has them in 5th off the back of a dreadful start to the campaign, In the Copa Del Rey final and still in the Europa League whilst having won it two years on the trot.

In my opinion all the names being linked to Chelsea have a few flaws other than Simeone although the style of play is the knock on his sides, Emery would get Chelsea dominating the Cups, Playing fast tempo football, Consistent in the league and has a great European record, The only knock on him in my opinion is he's a bit of a nutcase.

You haven't asked where Jose' is going.

Clearly going to take Van Gaal's place

Not a coincidence that Van Gaal is showing virtual disinterest and an opening is clearly arising.

Timing is perfect

Jose had a hankering for taking over in Van Gaal's present position

How is this prospect looking now compared to 20th December?

Too shrewd for the club to do it. The list of players he's worked with is pretty impressive though.

Ivan Rakitic, David Albelda, Jesús Navas, Álvaro Negredo, Alberto Moreno, Federico Fazio, Gary Medel, Geoffrey Kondogbia, David Silva and Juan Mata
