Wondering if we will see him playe img against New Castle on the weekend.

I would like to see him play at least 20min, that would give him chance to show what he can do.

I read somewhere that he needs 6 weeks to get back to match fitness. Best signing ever.

Good point, Wallosh.  After setting the world on fire in the first half of the season, Willian has been absolutely woeful the last three months. I think we need to find a different set piece taker, Cesc for corners and Oscar for free kicks just outside the penalty box.

Ac Milan fan here. Been watching Pato since 07, was my favorite player. Unfortunately due to constant thigh injuries he started to decline and was ultimately sold. Although I think Berlusconi was mad his daughter was sleeping with Pato and decided to send him off, don't mess with the boss type of thing. Its good to hear that he turned down China, hopefully he gives it his all and tries to get back to the top.

This is a curious one, we knew he's not match fit, yet we signed up just before the closing of the Window. Realistically, we probably won't see him playing a cameo until next week. He will only get about 12-15 games (max) to impress before the loan ends. My guess is we already made our mind up to sign up, the first 6 months is more of a trial and fitness training. If he breaks down, send him away, otherwise we will keep him, even if he contributes very little. Isn't the point of short term loan to fill the gap, rather than benching the player , or not even including him in the team?

I'm guessing Chelsea had better options they was looking at through the window like the rumours of Higuin. Pato was simply a last minute deal as other targets didn't pan out or you would of signed him at the beginning of January to get him fit.

Well if the rumours of Remy leaving to China after the weekend are true won't that just be coincidental timing...

Anybody know if Pato is good at set piece?

Never mind that, as there appear to be no official sightings of him yet, can anyone confirm that Pato is actually at Chelsea or was it just a malicious rumour?

If he's even with us, and it's only until the end of the season, will he even play?  I can't buy into the "I'm coming here to resurrect my career" when he's not even match fit and we've only got 11 games in the prem left.

ha ha i had forgotten that we had signed him already !! what a master stroke of a signing !! maybe he will come off the bench and grab the winner against PSG at the bridge, or maybe .... not.

Oh man... This thread has more negative vibes than your average match thread. It's as if people WANT him to fail.

i would love nothing more than for him to do what i just said, but the point is will he even be on the bench !!

I very much doubt we want him to fail at all, quite the opposite I would think. However I think it's reasonable to question the signing of a player with some dubious history and the timing seems a bit odd, even more so given that he apparently hasn't played since last November so is nowhere near match fit. Will he even gain match fitness before the season is over, that seems very unlikely ?

So I have to wonder what was the point of signing him at all ? Couple that with the Falcao signing and I am genuinely puzzled by some of the decisions being made by the club.

If he was anywhere near fit wouldn't he played a game or two for the U21's by now.  Clearly he was well out of shape when he arrived and now he is paying the price of signing for a 2nd rate team when he went back to Brazil.  I hope he gets fit soon; when he was at the pinnacle of his career I thought he would look good in a blue shirt.  Sadly I think he will only be a bench warmer and maybe the odd sub appearance for the remainder of this season.

I give you my opinion as an Italian living in Italy and as an observer of Italian Serie A: Pato arrived at AC Milan at 17, with a great impact on Serie A. Soon he started having some extra pitch problems (rumors said he had an affair with Berlusconi's daughter) and some "physical" problems due probably to his private life. Today, at 26, i think this is his last chance, otherwise i don't see great future for him in main european tournaments, but never say never.

-sorry for my english-

I Reckon, he'll cost us £500,000 a game this year minimum, whats all that about, one for next year??

He Is on £30,000 a week, and is here for 5 months so 20 weeks. That make it £600,000 for his loan stay, I certainly hope he gets more than 1 game.
