Yep...

’Since October 2014 Chelsea have spent upwards of £100m on Loïc Rémy, Radamel Falcao, Nathan, Juan Cuadrado, Danilo Pantic, Asmir Begovic, Baba Rahman, Pedro, Papy Djilobodji, Michael Hector and Pato, a candidate for most scattergun 18-month spending splurge in the history of all football everywhere. Chuck in 31 loan players, £100m of talent orbiting the club like dislocated souls, a zombie-swarm of 60 first-team players waiting to greet Antonio Conte on his first day. It is tempting to wonder what the plan really is here.’

That is just incredibly incompentent.

That is enough money to buy a ballon d'or winner.

I just read that on the Guardian site. Tremendous paragraph. I'd say Begovic was a good signing, though. Remy has made some good contributions, too. And Pedro and Baba have had a couple of good games. Between them.

I don't know why people are clamouring for us to play Pato, he is pretty much an emergency loan to take Falcao's spot as 3rd striker, really to allow Bamford to go on loan.

Why not Abraham then?

I mean we didn't even register Pato for the CL so it's clear he wasn't really in our short term plans. Why not give that slot to someone in our ranks instead of pissing away nearly £400k on wages for a guy who hasn't kicked a ball since Januray?

It's a complete joke tbh

The original Falcao deal was a bigger joke, everyone knew he was done. Djilobodji, Hector, playing Ivan at RB today... I've stopped questioning these decisions.

Pretty much everyone wrote the script on that one, it was staring us in the face. It makes this Pato deal all the more bizarre/worrying. It's as if we have a fetish of bringing in past it washed up strikers. In reality a youth player would in all likelihood offered far more than Falcao/Pato this season and saved us millions in the process.

Who is accountable? Why does it keep happening? And who will be the next fallen star to steal a living from our club?

You are right it's got to the point where we expect it and you start to just shake your head and try to ignore it as best you can.

I see one theme with Chelsea FC, that the action the club's board sometimes take often contradict the very few and brief statements they make

They are insulated financially from the 'real world' that the other  90% of clubs have to exist in, so their poor decisions

such as signing this guy Pato have limited consequences, except to stir up debate and discontent on this forum. Lets face it without them

this forum would be a tad boring, imagine the non-controversy of a prudent financial plan and a top notch scouting network reporting to a well seasoned

DOF, even a board of directors appointed based upon merit not cronyism; and an owner who knew that he was not a footballing expert but rather

just an enthusiastic but very rich man that deferred to experts (a bit like Man City lol).
