Welcome Pato

I think I would be up for him staying for another year IF it was on a loan deal. However if it's a purchase, I think he hasn't shown enough for us to buy him outright. Traore has shown more in his time with us.

Apart from the pen against Villa, he hasn't done anything else.

Traore is a better prospect and like you say JM7 has shown far more than Pato in his albeit brief spell.

As a third option I suppose a case could be made but I don't see him having a big influence on Chelsea.

Traore is good but he wasn't really a striker in the first place, more an attacking midfielder. I'd rather we bring in another top drawer striker to mix in with Costa/Traore/Pato.

I would have no problem with him staying as a squad player, as long as he Is happy to be that.

By the sounds of reports he was one of the most motivated players in the squad to get fit. Taking double training sessions and publicly stating that he wasn't fit and was doing everything humanly possible to get fit and contribute.

Even if this is true, why would you give him a contract when he couldn't manage to get fit in 4 mths of 'intensive training'? Forewarned is forearmed, broken strikers are rarely fixed.

Gilmar Veloz (agent): "#Chelsea has not given the player, me, or anyone any information regarding Alexandre Pato's future.“ [Goal]

Veloz: "We received the news that Mr. Conte was revising the players in the squad, however, he did not contact Alexandre Pato or me.“ [Goal]

Veloz: "Pato's future is still in the open, #Chelsea has the option to buy, if they don't then we'll begin looking for other clubs.“ [Goal]

If Conte uses 2 strikers we need more bodies. Pato could work with Costa. He can keep the ball in his feet and is very quick. Haven't seen enough of him though.

Hope he stays, will be a good player to have once he's fully fit and had a pre season with the squad.

Maybe, but I'd prefer if Abraham or Solanke got a chance. Well, I guess if we'll play with two up front and cannot buy a good, experienced striker then he'll have a place in the squad: Costa, Traoré, Pato, Abraham. I'd be more confident however if we replaced Pato with a better option.

Can't see Traore being second choice next season, he's not good enough (yet).

I agree that he's not good enough yet to lead the line but I think it'll help him a lot if we play with two strikers.

If we change to 2 strikers we are absolutely going to buy someone. Diego and Traore are our main two after Falcao and Remy are gone.

I think that Simone Zaza could be a good partner for Costa. Naturally left footed and can lead the line or work off of a main striker.

I'm quite glad we're not keeping him on, was class before the injuries... He seems to have become quite prone to niggles since I think.

The fact he was here 6 months and played a couple of games at most is horrific business from the club, I get that he was cover but surely he should have gotten more time than he did.

As someone previously said, I'd rather his space in the squad went to one of our young boys!

Edit: obviously with the impending arrival of the Batsman, it would push Traore to 4th choice, that wouldn't have been good.

Can't say I'm too bothered.

It will be interesting though, if Conte does play 2 up front, as to who will be the main guys and who will be back ups.  Traore being 4th choice in a one striker system, now would have more shots at coming on during games.  Also, Conte appears to like to use all of his squad.  Kinda of the antithesis of Jose's philosophy

Part of me actually thinks he got a rough deal here. He barey played any matches and had a chance.

However if the rumours are true that he was a poor trainer and wasn't professional enough then it's his own fault.

I think we could have kept him as a 3rd or 4th striker, cheap enough and he is still in his 20's with bags of experience....................but on second thoughts the kids should be given a chance

60 grand a week he got here, to do a bit of training every day and play, what 2, 3 games...10 mins a time.

I'm in the wrong line of work...
