That's a laugh we extend his contract but not for our Captain and Leader. What is this club thinking,he could be used sparingly next season whilst helping Zouma etc. to progress. Keep Ivan and let one of our best players of all time leave. Could only happen at Chelsea, very annoying!!

Gerrard left a season too early I think but his reasons were slightly different. He didn't want to be a squad player. My guess is that the club haven't even had that conversation with JT about reducing his playing time - they've just made the decision.

I know, I know. But his 6 month swan song was f**king brutally funny.

I wanted JT to stay forever too but I worry about how people are remembered.

Be Paul Newman, class to the end, not Marlon Brando who was top class but kept going until he became a joke.

Not sure how the club can feel okay with giving Ivanovic a one year extension and Cahill a new four year deal but with JT it's the new manager's decision and until then they won't offer JT a new deal.

It does depend on who comes in, no one can replace jt the leader, but I think we can replace him in terms of ability, he obviously isn't the player he once was.

A player gets to a certain age and all of sudden, he's old now so he isn't very good, he has to leave, it's rubbish, he's still the best centre back we have, just saw some moron on Twitter having a go at CFC fans because we're blaming the board, who else are we supposed to blame?

Anyone but Ivanovic, it would make him even more undroppable. Plus we need to think for the long run, Ivanovic would be one or two years at most.

FFS can't believe I'm talking about a new Chelsea captain. He's not even gone yet, I don't want to think about it :(

If we do not feel he is good enough for a new deal, why is he still starting every game? Yet Cahill, now 3rd choice, gets a new deal. Brana, who has been garbage until the past 3 or so weeks, got a new deal.
