May 3, 201610 yr Author Good thread title update! Amazingly, all the players went to training today....why they didn't get the day off I will never know! A few sore heads, I would imagine.
May 3, 201610 yr I'm still buzzing that they won the title! It just hasn't sunk in that they've done it! Unbelievable.
May 3, 201610 yr So Leicester City were 5000/1 to win the League at the start of the season. Can anyone remember such a long shot winning in Football or in any other sport for that matter? Just for a bit of perspective, you could have got 500/1 on finding the Loch Ness Monster back in August. I heard on the radio you can get 5000/1 odds Elvis is still alive
May 3, 201610 yr Their story gives me more and more motivation to go forward with my dream. Ranieri had made amazing things, turned Mahrez into the best player in the league, turned Vardy into one of the best strikers in the league, gave hope to players and here is the result. I just hope they will stay as a team next season with the same players, coaching staff, now they got more money and they can become bigger and bigger. They are enjoying their football, it's just awesome to watch, well done Leicester!

Just for a bit of perspective, you could have got 500/1 on finding the Loch Ness Monster back in August. The St Louis Cardinals were 999-1 to win the World Series in 2011 (mid-season). Greece were 150-1 to win Euro 2004. Goran Ivanisevic was 125-1 to win Wimbledon in 2001. Joe Johnson was 150-1 to win the world snooker title in 1986. Buster Douglas was 40-1 to beat Mike Tyson in 1990. Ben Curtis was 300-1 to win the Open in 2003. Not sure there's any that tops Leicester's.
May 3, 201610 yr Yep, they will lift it after their game vs everton. We still have to do the guard of honour though. Don't know if it's true but they said on Radio 4 they would get it next week but parade it at the Bridge as well.
May 4, 201610 yr I think Claudio will be full of nothing but gratitude when he comes to the Bridge. Between us helping them over the line by sinking Spurs, our fondness of him and vice versa, and absolute zero hostility between both sets of fans. It's going to be a fantastic atmosphere. Completely agree.
May 4, 201610 yr I hope nobody asks me to recount the last 24 hours Well, errrrm..... I am kind of curious

May 6, 201610 yr I read something about someone wanting them to be given knighthoods lol. It's great what they have done but that's just ridiculous.

It was a great achievement for them to win the Premier League and they deserved it but I don't think they should receive knighthoods.

It's a great story and one we will hear about till our last days but when things like the above get started it's clearly going too far.
May 6, 201610 yr Somehow I feel like it would be inappropriate for Danny Simpson or Jamie Vardy to receive knighthoods considering, er, past events...
May 6, 201610 yr Author Haha amazing. There will be a flood risk from tears in the city of Leicester once big Andrea has had his wicked way with the fans!! THEY'LL ALLLLLLLL BE CRYING
May 6, 201610 yr He might support both teams, a guy at my work is a Sheff Utd/Arsenal fan. Yep. My grandfather supports both Arsenal and Liverpool. Can't understand it myself. Personally, I think you should only 'support' one team. I'm not saying that it's wrong to have a soft spot for other teams, but you should only actually support one.

May 6, 201610 yr Chelsea for me and 100% since 1974/75. Admit to looking out for both Carlisle Utd and Accrington Stanley results. My uncles mate played for Carlisle in the 1970s and I have always liked the name Accrington Stanley.
May 6, 201610 yr Anyone following the Championship title battle? Brighton are like Leicester. They were 20th last year. Huge match tomorrow. Easily the biggest game in English football this year, but as it's not the Premier League it's not getting much attention.
May 7, 201610 yr Still shake my head in disbelief that Leicester City are the Champions. I still think it is brilliant that they did it.
