I thought Carragher was gonna cry.

Apart from having the worst voice/ accent on the planet (although half a million Scousers give him a hell of a run for their money), Carjacker is actually a pretty decent pundit. But this phone call is just embarrasssing. In the same conversation in which he admits he was 'gutted' when we won the CL, he actually tells Cundy:

Cundy is open and consistent in his wish to see other clubs fail. He is, in my opinion, a very good analyst and pundit and I respect his views. He is unashamedly pro-Chelsea, but is never shy at having a pop when we deserve it.

Carjacker shows himself up to be a pathetic whinger here. Why the hell should other fans join in Liverpool's euphoria, and why the hell should Liverpool fans care if they don't?

I was listening at the time and thought cundy did a great job of exposing him as a hypocrite...he rang up moaning everyone should respect Liverpool and be happy for their result etc and then admitted to not wanting Utd to beat West Ham in the cup the day before or cfc winning champions league...also trotted out the ignorant 'chelsea have no history line'...came across as a typical Liverpool twat and was too thick to realise that he was guilty of double standards

I think Cundy missed a trick when Carjacker asked him if he was a Chelsea fan as a kid, he should have swiped it straight back to him being an Everton fan as a kid.

Job well done by Cundy.

I do kind of agree with Carragher. Let the mickeys have their moment, even if it is despicably cringeworthy and over the top.

How insecure and childish do you have to be to ring up when someone says something you don't like about your football club?. I just can't imagine any other ex footballer ringing up a phone in except for an ex Liverpool player. The likes of Fowler and Aldridge would as well.

Being the Liverpool Echo, it's obviously biased so I think I'll ring them up and say it's shocking that they didn't give Cundy any quotes of his own.

Basically, Liverpool fans can be bitter and slag off every other club, but when an opposition fan does the same towards them, it's not acceptable. Delusional, pathetic, hypocritical and full of their own self importance. 

 

In just a few hours on Thursday, Liverpool's fans have once again shown why people can't stand them.

A lot of Liverpool fans think their club is special, and they think everyone else thinks its special, when in fact they are just like every other football club.

The only difference between Liverpool and Tranmere Rovers, is Liverpool have had heavy investment in the last 50 years that has helped them win trophies.

The vast majority of successful eras in football for any club, has come off the back of heavy investment. Liverpool are no different.

The only reason Liverpool don't sing the wonderfully factual rendition of 'you ain't got no history' to the likes of Leicester city, Bournemouth etc is because they aren't jealous of those teams, and fearful of those teams overtaking them in the arrogant Dick waiving contest they compete in, in their own minds.

Arsenal fans are of a similar jealous arrogant breed, maybe United fans have been less arrogant towards ourselves as Ferguson still had them lifting trophies during our rise.

Maybe if these 'historic champions' showed a little more respect for fans supporting teams who aren't always completing at the top, they might have a few more neutrals like cundy happy to see them doing well as an English club in Europe.

Yeah there fans are annoying as hell, they act like they're entitled to not only be succesful but that everyone should automatically respect them

I personally wish them no success ever, and I would take great satisfaction in watching their decline into the conference!

The fact they think they're 'special' makes me sick to my stomach.

I'm pleased that we saved the whole country from a media w**kfest by denying them the title two years ago, all the sweeter by the fact they'd come to the ground in a fanfare & dug out all their past heroes to celebrate!

And THEY had THEIR moment for THEM, at no point does it become something the whole nation should rejoice in, it was a quarter final too FFS.

If they had done it in the semi or the final even, then I could probably accept a chunk of the neutrals gushing over it, but not when they are still 3 games away from winning the cup.

That club and every person associated with it, be it fan or player past or present has needed to get over themselves for over 40 years now, still haven't got close though have they.

Thing is, Carragher kept saying that Cubdy should be go using on praising Liverpool because of the win and the comeback was the story. What he forgets, is that they were poor first half and could have been out of the game.

Speaking purely objectively, I think Cundy is an excellent analyst and really sees the game how it is. It's a shame he's not on mainstream media more.
