If every referee will give a penalty for Shawcross's action, then we would have 5-6 penalties in a game. I think Otamendi and Shawcross caught each other, both fouled each other. On other side, Kolarov made a clear foul on Allen, clear penalty was there. Poor decisions until now by the referee. 

 

City dominating, keeping the ball and they deserved to lead, they still have the second half to play. I can see a 4-0 here.

Ref got it spot on though. These fouls shoud be given. The problem is the refs who won't give it not the one who does.

 

That said Stoke turned down a stonewaller!

Not sure about City, but against Chelsea they had a banner that went something like "Roman's dirty money is ruining our game"

Sterling made no attempt to challenge for the ball. Deliberate obstruction.

Be interesting to see if these types of fouls continue to be given throughout the season.

I disagree - I think that should be a penalty all day long. Sterling is only interested in pushing the player, he doesn't even know where the ball is. Should have cracked down on this sh*te years ago.

Stamping out the less desirable side of football seems to be the remit for refs this season.

Refs seem to be taking the dissent rule seriously and look to be unlawful holding too. Wouldn't surprise me if we start seeing more cards for diving too.

I wonder if they will stick to it all season, i hope they do, but i have seen this many times at the start of the season and then as the season goes on, they start letting players off.

Very easy in the end for City, Stoke have never really been a threat, even after they scored their penalty.
