Sane is really developing into a good player, he got all the attributes Sterling has, and he delivers in goals and assists. I reckon he's one we have to watch out on Wednesday, in addition to the Kun, KDB. I reckon City would be a much better team if they play a faster and more direct style, the few times KDB delivered those early crosses were a lot more dangerous than those 101 short passes.

Wenger will survive another week, and possibly a new contract, the only positive this weekend for me.

lol maybe some of these chumps finally realized arsenalfantv are the ones who gave arsenal the reputation as the comic relief club of the premier league by giving bunch of idiots platform to "rant', also making hella lot of money out of it too

So does anyone know what Moyes has said to this female reporter? Cause articles I find don't state what he actually said.

Footage from a camera phone has sensationally revealed David Moyes threatening a female reporter when he thought the cameras had stopped rolling.

The Sunderland boss, who has since apologised, took exception to being asked if he was under more pressure with club chairman Ellis Short in the stands for his side's 0-0 draw with Burnley last month.

BBC reporter Vicki Sparks was then told by Moyes: 'It was getting a wee bit naughty at the end there so just watch yourself. You still might get a slap even though you're a woman.'

What a c*nt Moyes is, a proper hard man threatening to hit a woman, should be punished severely. Anyone heard what Gary Neville said?

Arsenal are a bigger club than us, a fact that apparently we wouldn't debate ourselves, has to be the most stupid sh*t he's ever said, maybe Gary wants to make amends with the Arsenal fans. Since they last won the league we've won it four times, we've won the champions league, we've got a bigger sponsorship deal, we've got a bigger global fan base, I could go on. What makes them a bigger club? Why would a player join them over us? They are a club on a steep decline, since their invincible season they've been fading in to obscurity and now they're imploding, bigger than us my ass, please shut up Gary Neville.

Not sure about global fan base... I would guess Arsenal's is still comfortably higher. It is a stupid argument in any case about some clubs being bigger than others.

Historically, they are. They've won more major trophies than us after all. A stat which we can easily overturn within the next 3 seasons, by which time we'd also have our own 60k stadium, mind. Once we're able to overturn that, this argument will be invalid. So for now, I'll give him that. He's right. "Bigger" club isn't the same as "better" club though. So on the "better" bit, it's not even close. Right now, and for the past 13 years, we've been a better club than them.

As far as global fan base, @Floyd25 is absolutely correct. Don't forget, we exploded onto the scene just as the Premier League began to truly get a global audience and was also aided by the rise of the internet globally. The only English club who've got a bigger global fan base than us is United, to be quite honest. I think we've gone ahead of Liverpool in that respect these days as well. Liverpool have a strong following in Asia but we're just behind them there so not too far behind. But then we have a much bigger fan base than Liverpool in North America and Africa. So there's that. Not sure what the scene in South America is but considering the number of South American players we've had of recent, I'd imagine there's a large Chelsea following there too.

What makes you believe that we have a larger global fan base than Arsenal?

One easy way to assess it is social media following, of which we have the 4th highest combined behind only Real, Barca and United. It's wise to also note that a lot of football fans in 3rd world countries don't have access to good internet hence can't be quantified in social media followings so the best way to aggregate it all would be social media, shirt sales, tv viewers, and sponsorship deals (there's a reason we've got a bigger kit deal than Arsenal, sports companies do their homework - same reason United's deal is in a different class to other English clubs).

Just about every article written on this in the last 5 years has us 2nd only behind United and generally 4th overall behind Real, Barca and United globally. Those links I provided were a quick google search. I'm sure if I search a little longer, I'll find a lot more echoing the same sentiment.

Furthermore, I've spent a month in Nigeria and a couple of weeks in South Africa so I have a fairly good idea of what the football culture is like over there. Arsenal have a really strong fan base in Nigeria but it's been edged out by Chelsea recently and in South Africa we're only surpassed by United. I also spent a few years of my life living in the US was there as recently as last year so I've seen the sport grow a lot especially in the internet age and I can confidently say Chelsea have a much, much bigger fan base than Arsenal in the US. In fact, I'd say City might even have a similar fan base to Arsenal over there. It's United, Chelsea, Liverpool.....and then Arsenal there.

Not sure what it's like in India but I would imagine United and Liverpool have the lead there but I very much doubt Arsenal have a larger following there than us. I stand corrected if I'm wrong. As for China, I have no clue what it's like there. Hopefully, I get to visit someday and that comes up in whatever discussion I have with locals there.

Perhaps others on the forum who live outside the UK could chime in on what it's like where they're from. Also, the only Premier League fans I've seen from Australia and New Zealand turned out to be Chelsea fans. Anyway, that's my take on it.

I visited the Kiwi Nation & I remember that all of the pubs were open at Zero Dark Thirty for lpoo vs manure - those fanbases are huge in The Great Kiwi Nation - I know here in Sacramento, CA both of those Clubs are really represented well - as a CFC fan I am usually alone when I watch a match, but last summer CFC vs RM did draw over 100,000 fans in Ann Arbor, Michigan - so there is hope for us yet

Ah thanks. Interesting.

I felt that the situation in India was similar to the rest of the world (outside UK). Arsenal still much more followed in India than Chelsea (I know one or two other Chelsea fans at the most) and several of my friends support Arsenal (almost at par with Man U). I would say we are at par with Liverpool or ahead in India. Although this may be changing, this is still the sense I get at pubs.

My opinion may be biased as I belong to (and am mostly surrounded by) a generation that began following European football in the late 90s/early 2000s when Arsenal was all the rage.

Objectively speaking, when you factor in historical success and size of domestic fanbase I would say that we are still behind Arsenal overall. But we have closed the gap a lot in the last 20 years domestically and have been the no.1 team in London without a doubt for over a decade. We all know that our record in Europe is far superior to theirs of course too. If we carry on at our current trajectory overall and they continue on theirs then we will be on a par at least with them in the not too distant future.

IMHO the worm turned for the gooners on April 6,2004 - One of my best days of my life - beating those bums @ that library called highbury
