conte got lucky again.. so far he's been flattered to deceive.. I have to rephrase my earlier comment, it's not that he didn't make it any easier for hazard but he just didn't make it any easier for all of us, chelsea associated.. 

 

what a relieved to win this game, the manager almost screw it up.. if next game he's going to start both matic & oscar again over cesc and bats then I'm gonna be real pissed with him..

I can see Cesc getting on the team sheet but would you drop Costa seriously. He's just won us two matches. Best have Michy ready when Diego is serving a suspension!

Great finish after a sleeper first 70 minutes. Cesc made such a difference with his lovely balls into the penalty area and then chipping the ball away that started the break and then passing Diego open for the winner. Batshuayi has to get more time and a start. So active and physical. Oscar and Pedro need to grab a seat for awhile.

 

Funny, the headline will be Costa's possible dive no-call. How about the missed hand ball on Watford about 5 minutes before? If Costa was a dive and off, then Watford should have been penalized prior and a penalty attempt for Hazard.

 

Conte is learning his squad. Got to work Cesc into the lineup. Maybe Matic sits for Willian too? Batshuayi has to be out there as well. I like Moses off the bench too. Better than Mikel.

 

I know Ivanovic had an awful game passing and with his crosses, but his defensive work improved from shambolic to below average

I've seen Costa get slagged off here in both games and score the winner, keep it up folks

Great birthday present for me. 

 

We looked turgid for most of the game, but some inspired tactical changes by Conte secured us 3 points. 

 

It's funny how Costa lately looks like he's tilting at windmills for much of the game and then pulls out a goal from nowhere.

 

Say what you want about Cesc (lack of athleticism, mediocre defensively) but he's always been a brilliant playmaker. His passing and vision almost rival Pirlo's when he was at his peak.  

Meltdown is putting it mildly.

People are just different to be fair, you're always going to get more pessimistic fans and then more positive fans, I'm somewhere in the middle, you have to allow criticism when is desvered, vice versa. Maybe the comments about how sh*t the match day thread is are slightly ott, can't understand the ones that disappear when we win though.

Hopefully this has shown that Oscar & Pedro can be allowed to leave for the right price.

Just winds me up if people suddenly turn around after moaning for an hour, and say we actually played quite well etc. Just because we won. So delusional. You can be happy with the win but disappointed with the performance. Thats not being a poor fan.

One thing that should cheer people up, a common theme of Fergusons teams is that they started slowly and struggled through their opening ten games. In fact, they only really hit top form around January. I would much prefer us do that then go all guns blazing to begin with only to burn out when it matters.

Great win and fantastic turnaround. 75 awful minutes though, it was really painful to watch. What we learnt today:

-  we really need reinforcements in defence, Ivan is just awful

- Oscar is back to being average, 

- Cesc has to play, the only player ( besides Eden ) that brings creativity to our play

- we should play with 2 strikers in both games so far when we played both Costa and Bats it actually changed the game

- Matic is a lost cause, I am sorry for the lad, I thought he will be able to improve after Conte gave him so much confidence

 

6 out of 6 so far, come on Chelsea !

Proof of the pudding is in the eating, and despite a lot of negative feelings for most of the match, conte and the boys delivered.

So happy we got the 3 points. I still stand by any criticism towards Pedro I may have said earlier because its clear the PL just doesn't seem to suit his style. Other than that the only ppl I get mad at are the refs and tony gale who is such a c**t. I never knew being upset your team is losing and posting about it was a bad thing.

You've got to look at it at the reverse angle to truly see how wonderful the pass was.  Started straight at a Watford defender then curved brilliantly right in front of Costa.  

Don't let the win paper over what for 75mins was a slow ponderous performance that created nothing. Hopefully the spark injected by Moses, Bats and Fab in place of the pedestrian Pedro, Oscar and Matic will tell Conte all he needs to know for future selections. Early days but am praying once he sees for himself the weaknesses will be addressed.

Also Stick by my earlier comment, Ivanovic needs to be put in the bin. Would love to see Aina get a run against Burnley.

Pleased with the win, away to a well organized side, and hopefully Conte can build results in to performances to match.
