Brilliant. From defence to attack we were dominant. Luiz was once again brilliant and I feel he does not get the credit he deserves. He has been immense in recent weeks. Cahill too. Alonso had a dodgy start in the opening stages of the game but improved significantly as the game went on. Kante and especially Matic was brilliant in the centre of the pitch. Moses again was one of the best players on the pitch. His work rate was fantastic as was his ability when he ran at the opposition. Huge credit to Conte for not following the repeated scenario of loaning him out and actually analysing his qualities and adapting that to the way we play. A very huge bonus to our squad.

Hazard again was the star player. Unbelievable to think after 10 games he has already beat his tally of last season. He just looks reinjuvinated this season in a position which gives him less headache of defending. Said it before and will say it again, Hazard should be targeting around the 20 goal mark and challening himself to reach those standards. He near enough plays enough plays as a CF in this 3-4-3. And Costa what a goal. I like how he has calmed down. He knows  another yellow and he is suspended for 1 game and he is not allowing himself to get involved in stupidity but most importantly he his focusing solely on his football. Hopefully he stays fit because if he does he will easily be getting over 20 goals this season.

You can Costa has been practising his shooting outside the box as well. Before this season, I can't recall any games where he has scored from outside the box. This season already has 3 exceptional strikes from outside the box. Today, Hull and the opening day of the season against West Ham.

Another difficult fixture where we have come away with three points and our fourth league clean sheet in a row. Let's keep the momentum going. KTBFFH! :bluescalf:

This time last year we were in 15th place, 13 points off first. Now, we are in 4th place, 1 point off the top. What a difference a year makes

And two years ago we were four points clear at the top!  Last year was really the one where we said what a difference a year makes

Great team performance...

Luiz faultless display...

Man of the match for me = Moses.

We seem to be a different team without William, Oscar, etc. starting ...

Everton up next... another tough game.

Start with the few negatives. Worry that against the real top teams, we will find it hard to get out in the formation we are in. And that we will be overrun in the middle with most teams operating with 3. We were pinned down in the first half, and the times that teams have pressed us (Leicester and United 2nd half) we have looked like we can't get out, albeit looking quite solid. I am not overly enamoured with us reverting back to this type of football.

Two players negatively stood out. Alonso and Pedro just don't look up to it. Pedro gives it away/makes the wrong choice more often than he keeps it. And Alonso is nowhere near athletic enough. In fact in that system Baba would be perfect.

The positives outweigh these though. The team spirit, the work rate, the individual performances all make it a good day for us. I questioned Kante earlier in the season, particularly after arsenal but i thought him and Matic were brilliant today, along with moses and Hazard. Second half was much better, we created more chances and won the ball back a bit quicker.

Have to agree. Pedro did okay today but he always looks too lightweight and is too easily muscled off the ball.

And Alonso looks lie he can be got at. He struggled early on today and I thought he was in for a torrid afternoon, but thankfully came through unscathed. Do fear stronger teams will play on his weaknesses though.

But enough of that. This was a tough fixture and many would have taken a draw so to come away with all 3 points, another clean sheet and a great team performance, you can't ask for more than that.

3-4-3 is in fact 9-1-0 when defending and 3-0-7 when attacking...you do the Maths

so with your math we get a Clean Sheet & one point of the Top of the Table - I take that all day every day

btw does anyone have a *.gif file of Moses making Austin look very silly today? it was a play in the 2nd half - Austin thought the ball went out - Moses stayed w/ the ball - kept it  in play - then did a bunny hop over Austin w/ the ball, who was sprawled on the turf begging for a foul
