Tiémoué Bakayoko

Obviously not moron, but to discard a player after 1 season is a bit harsh. Especially when baka has shown he is a decent player at Monaco and had good glimpses here this season

Not really, for every 1 performance he's put in 10 bad ones.

I'm not for binning him after one season but don't draw stupid comparisons. Salah or KDB actually looked like quality players for a time, Baka has had 5 good games on out of 40.

HAHA Liverpool just signed Fabinho. The player that covered for all of Baka's flaws last season. We're going to be left behind if we don't make some good signings this summer.

The worst part is they signed him for the same fee we got Bakayoko...

We really need to step our game up in the market, we've still got a manager who we aren't sure on who will be here, sort it out.

Fabinho isn't as good as made out. Decent signing but i'd have been much more worried had they got Savic or Jorginho alongside Keita.

He's eerily similar to N'zonzi and he isn't anything special. Jordan Henderson's contract is up for renewal and we need a playmaker.

The good games came when we were sitting back and countering. Essentially, Bakayoko can only play well when all he has to do is stand there, tackle players and run into space. There is no indication of a good player in any other system then a parked bus.

Pretty much the F.A. Cup final, still one of our worst players in that game but he's now being called a big game player by some of his fanboys because he didn't make any of his usual cockups.

Agree. When we have had to take the impetus he has struggled.

What a player, only good when he has to stand there. I don't even see him make tackles or run into space.

when he stands there, he's only good if the ball doesn't go near him, saying that I reckon he may well surprise us next season? he may come back a different player after the summer.

Errr do you forget how Salah and KDB were for us? They didnt have too many games, but the games they did play they had very few good ones and looked out of their depth

Salah was but that guy is an anonamly, his type of rise won't be reapeated for a very long time. KDB talent with us was obvious, maybe not to quite the level he became but still. Our coaches should be able to work out who the best talents are an act accordingly.

Exactly. I'm not saying that selling them was the right decision but clearly it was hard for anyone to tell that they would both become THIS good. Baka could be another example of this, which is why another season should be given to him to show if he's capable. If he is terrible again, then fair enough then he should probably be sold but people clamoring for him to be sold after 1 season is harsh

Salah was only bad for us when he was put in the reserves, his first 6 months he was actually good whenever he played. Bakayoko has played over 40 games this season and has been atrocious.

Have you been supporting this club since 2017 or something? In what way was KDB even close to Bakayoko of bad performances, if anything KDB was actually good for such a young age, you could see he had talent. He showed that at Genk and then he showed it again when he went to Germany on loan.

Not going to get too involved with this mate, but for the first bit, that is just wrong.  Salah was just pants, and was rightly referred to as not in the top 5 of our 5 wingers at the time.

Kdb  was possibly good for a young age (but I argue not good enough for a first team place), and may well have showed it in Belgium and Germany, but he never showed it at Chelsea and wasn't willing to wait patiently and work for a place.

I do actually agree Salah was an anomaly, and I would never have predicted he would become this good, I mean who could really?

But I actually liked Salah when we first signed him, especially after watching him play so well against us. First 6 months he was good whenever he played, not amazing but I liked what I saw, after that he was terrible whenever he played but he was pushed to reserves. I remember his shot that went to a throwing in the cup game against some Championship side :laugh2:

This isn't hindsight either by the way when I say this next bit, but I thought keeping Oscar and getting rid of KDB was a very bad decision (even at that very time when Oscar arguably had the best games of his career). For me Oscar never improved, he was excellent before we sold KDB and his work rate kept him that place. I think that's why Mourinho got rid of Mata & KDB because of their work ethic, not so much talent. As for Oscar he never played well after we sold both of those players, at least not consistently.

Oh god is he still here? As if this summer window isn't depressing enough.

Shocking that he didn’t make the France WC squad, isn’t it? :laugh2:
