April 29, 20188 yr I watch him with angry frustration, and I'll be glad when he's gone, as I see it he's just a liability nothing more.
April 29, 20188 yr What a pathetic signing. I really can’t see how he’s going to get any better. Hopefully he’s sold quickly this summer. I’d take 10m for him.

April 29, 20188 yr Awful player so lazy jogs around the pitch loses the ball and never tries to get it back. How he gets game time is beyond me. You can see the team not even wanting to give him the ball. He’s even worse than jokanovich was !!! loftus cheek is everything he is not has to go
April 29, 20188 yr It would be churlish to argue that he hasn’t had a terrible season. He hasn’t developed from the player that was a very good player in France indeed he appears to have gone backwards. That says he is 23years just a few months older than RLC he is not a seasoned pro.He didn’t have a pre season he had a long term injury which was a real issue. Often players are written off too quickly and I agree he has done nothing to date that suggests he is going to improve but his self esteem & confidence has taken a real hammering this year and moving to a new country away from family and friends without the sort of support mechanisms that he probably has relied on no doubt has only compounded matters. I somehow doubt he will be sold unless an offer in excess of £25-30 million comes in, which I doubt will be the case,so it’s probably either a loan or he will be in the squad till at least Jan 2019.

As for suggesting that the manager is a coward that is way below the belt and really surprises me coming from any Chelsea supporter.

True to a point but France is hardly the other side of the world. For someone like Oscar that's a different matter coming from a hot country to a damp and cold one where it gets dark at half four in the afternoon in the Winter. Living in a hotel and not being able to speak the language that must also be hard it's the equivalent of a Englishman moving to Norway (or Aberdeen ).

Club already came out and stated that Baka and Morata will not be sold, I believe. Another chance given and more time to settle in. But with Conte probably on the outs, that could change.

I don’t know if you have ever worked away from home. I have and whilst I stayed in nice hotels and was paid well when the door shut it was truly lonely. When Oscar came to England he was already married as far as I am aware Bakayoko is still single.Having a support network away from the club is crucial. Mental health in football is not something that is often talked about but the demands , the expectations and indeed the public scrutiny of often very young men is challenging to say the least but when you are in a foreign country it really creates additional challenges and many need significant help and support to overcome problems. Far too many too minimise just how difficult it is to settle into life in a foreign country and just how hard it is to forget all the off field issues and perform to the highest level. I personally will give him this season but if he stays I will expect far better from him Edited April 29, 20188 yr by terraloon
April 29, 20188 yr Bakayoko will come good, I have the feeling. i also like the guy to be honest, I hope he rewards my trust. He must.
April 29, 20188 yr What would be truly amazing if these young players came to us full of humility and a true sense of their worth. I will eat my hat (1975 Chelsea - much prized possession)) if I ever hear of the latest, greatest, most amazing starlet approaching our club along with his agent and/or family members and says: 'Look, I'm not the finished article, I'm going to take a while to adjust to the premier league plus I'm going to have off field issues to deal with whilst I settle into a new country... I really don't expect you to pay me too much for the first year or two...' Instead of the usual demands for mega-bucks salaries, bonuses, image fees etc etc. If you can't hack the league/country then don't expect top dollar.

Your right about mental health but I don't think that is Baka's problem he's just a very average footballer who's not good enough for Chelsea.

I personally will give him this season but if he stays I will expect far better from him I think you have a point and I actually hope that's the case, for his sake. Because if he has personal issues (he looks to be struggling massively for confidence) then that's something that can be fixed. However we have to accept reality here, this bloke is on what 50k 60k a year minimum? He could even be on a 100k a year for all I know I'm not sure. He doesn't just look drained of confidence he looks lost, he doesn't know the game as well as a footballer should. It's honestly like they've just pulled a bloke from a pub team and just shot him on there while saying "read the game as best as you can". Again for the 3rd time, he was playing as a left wing-back, practically hugging Palmieri. And when he wasn't doing that he was going further up the pitch far too much, Fabregas had to play deeper. His football IQ is shocking, I've never rated the guy, I've heard good things about his Ligue 1 performances last season but when I watched him in the Champions League I was far from impressed. I just have no hope at all that there is a player in there, I would be fine with him staying another season but he can't get that game time again. He just can't, we need an upgrade, we can not put all of our eggs in one basket. We did that with Bakayoko and now we have a huge void next to Kante that's definitely cost us a lot of points this season. It baffles me how he gets so much game time as it is.
April 29, 20188 yr He's been shocking 90+% of the games he has played; when we bought him I though we might be getting another Essien type player, strong in the tackle and be able to drive forward; to say I am sadly disappointed would be an understatement. But he has not been the only one that has a well below average season yet still managed to play a majority of the games this year...Victor Moses for example, Cesc and Cahill are just to name a few. Who knows if we do get another manager perhaps we will have a clear out and a new approach.

I would argue that every interview he has done this season has involved below the belt insults directed at his players. I would also argue that refusing to play youth and spending 40m on a worse player because he was afforded experience by another manager is pretty cowardly. Also below the belt implying I'm not a real Chelsea fans because I think the manager is too cowardly to risk his reputation integrating a young player instead of buying a worse player for big money. RLC definitely had workrate issues. Watching Bakayoko for Monaco anybody could tell that he also had those issues and it was hypocritical to slagging off RLC whilst drooling at the thought of Bakayoko.

Now if you said directed against the senior management then I would probably agree but is he really that critical of his players in public? Refusing to play youth it depends what you mean by youth but I think all the evidence points to him playing youngsters probably more than any other manager in the RA era. As for implying you aren’t a Chelsea supporter that wasn’t my intention I just find it staggering that any supporter would call AC a coward especially for the reason you state. He had no fear integrating Christensen, Ampadu clearly would have played far more games AC isn’t a coward he is the one making the descions and as they say the buck stops with him. As for me being hypocritical I would suggest that you clearly have mis read or misunderstood my comments for whist making an observation about RLC, I certainly haven’t been drooling over Bakayoko .

RLC would work in a 4-3-3 with Kante alongside another CM/DM. He was badly used by Mourinho who played him in a 2 (same issues with playing Pogba in a 2), and Conte who didn’t know what to do with him & viewed him as a forward. Fingers crossed our next manager is tactically flexible and uses a 4-3–3/4-2-3-1.

Fingers crossed our next manager is tactically flexible and uses a 4-3–3/4-2-3-1. If we can only get a proper tune out of him with one formation then that in itself is a massive red flag. Or if put another way, imagine if he was owned by Palace and we were linked with him, can anyone honestly say the'd be excited? Zaha has been miles better for Palace this season and when he gets mooted as a possible buy the reviews are mixed to put it kindly. If we are looking at boosting our CM options from within, then MVG and Mount are the one's we should be looking at. I love the idea of RLC, but the reality just isn't measuring up.
April 29, 20188 yr No one but Monaco wants Bakayoko and I bet they're going to low ball us, we should loan him to any PL side that will take him to recoup a bit in loan fees and have another club try and spend the season getting him to settle in England, there is no room for that in Chelsea for a player at his level. As for RLC he is probably ready for another chance as an option for us but the problem is we also have Barkley who is also homegrown and is more experienced and on paper a better player still. The new manager will surely choose him. In a 3 man midfield you'd have Kante, a new top DM/CM maybe van Ginkel and Drinkwater on rotation + a creative which would likely be Cesc for any attacking manager, then you have Barkley on rotation and there's just no room for RLC.
April 29, 20188 yr If having Ross Barkley is what's keeping RLC out of the squad I'll Tanya Harding him myself and do the time. I guess I wouldn't really have to, Ross seems to get injured often enough on his own
