Tiémoué Bakayoko

Not gonna lie, thought there were plenty of worse players than Baka today.

I don't know, i literally can't think of one good thing Bakayoko did today. I can't even remember him making a pass. He was a nothing player, invisible until he was called on to make a mistake.....which he managed with an awful clearance that led to Newcastle's 2nd goal.

At times, it is like he is playing with some sticky stuff on the soles of his boots which makes everything he does seem like such a massive ballache. Running in treacle.

I cant remember any other regular first team player over the last 20 years as bad as this guy.

He really is the pits.

I can accept lack of talent or ability, but he seems to never be trying!

We have to get rid in the summer. It's been an unmitigated disaster. Whoever scouted him made a mistake. It happens. We need to cut our losses.

It's not so much the fact he's sh*t. He can't read the game. He's lazy. It's like he's been sedated.

There were Cup Final places up for grabs. He shouldn't even be on the bench.

It made me laugh when people said he played well against Liverpool, and there were many who said it. He was sh*t against Liverpool by any normal standards. He was by far the worst player on the pitch.

What must Danny Drinkwater be thinking? God only knows.

I thought he played well against Liverpool in the first half, but other than that people praise him for being average or sh*t.

Like there are people on here that genuinely thought he had 3 good games before the Liverpool match. That's how you separate the morons from the people who know what they're talking about. And that's not even being rude, it's pretty simple, you clearly don't know much about the game, you've probably never played it or spent enough time watching it if you think Bakayoko has had any good games this year but the Liverpool one.

Makes me think of how I would have played if in some bizzaro PL world, Conte would have chosen me for  starting today's match.  I would have hid as much as possible on the pitch, just like Bakayoko does game in, game out. Fricken unbelievable.

We would be better off with a 32 year Mikel in the squad than bakayoko.

His only real attribute is winning the ball back, but he has no vision, no awareness, and very little quality on the ball.

Worse player we have spent decent money on by a big margin.

@Davey Baby is spot on. We just need to cut our losses on this one.

He doesn't even know a game of football is happening around him.

If someone tapped him on the shoulder and said, "Hey mate, there's a game going on around you", he'd say, "No not today, today's our day off".

"What have you chosen to do on your day off?"

"Oh you know, just mooch around aimlessly with my head in the clouds, it's how I relax."

Probably the biggest disappointment in what has been a very disappointing season. Must not be anywhere near Wembley next weekend.

Was this a Conte signing do people think? because if it was heres a reason Conte why the board hesitate about buying players you want and dont give you more control in the market.

But then you can apply that to any other player we bought like DW and Barkley, if he wanted to sabotage the team intentionally to make a point (which tbh is quite ridiculous) he would drop Kante for DW and Cesc for Barkley.

I know we are all here guessing but I think the reverse is true, Conte wanted Bakayoko which is why he played him early in the season. He was forced to drop him cause the criticism got so strong but tried to make him happen again later in the season.

Conte plays whatever the type of player is fit for the role in his system, a big striker like Morata and Giroud will play over the smaller Michy, a big powerful CM like Baka/Matic over Cesc and DW. The reason why we have more rotation in the WB role is because he wants offensive capability and all 4 WBs can provide that.

If I find out next Sunday that Bakayoko is starting, I will turn off the tele immediately and do something else.

My plan is to stock up on the booze. I expect to need it.

Occasionally in a game he does something like a strong tackle and a burst forward up the pitch and you get a tiny glimmer of why we bought him.

Then he does ten successive back passes, sometimes under/over hit and you just lose the will to live.

I said you don't have to call me God, but you're right, I do know.  Danny Drinkwater is currently thinking about what number comes next as he counts his money and plans where he's going to live when he transfers to West Ham in the summer.   (Actually, he's not prescient, so he doesn't know it will be West Ham, so he's really actually thinking about which Ikea cabinets he will buy for his new kitchen after his transfer)

Other than that, I can't disagree with what you said about Bakayoko.  Sad, but, obviously George Weah had a lot of cousins.

At the risk of being labelled a moron, from memory I thought he was decent against Tottenham (away), Madrid (away) & United (home). Not saying he was man of the match, but he was decent.

This is an opinion shared by most of the lads who I go to football with, who have season tickets, some went to Madrid away, and many of which have played football at county level. Hope that get's us past the initial criteria to be allowed an opinion different to yours.

That’s not what I said, I said the 3 games before the Liverpool match. Not any 3 games. He was praised since coming back into the startup in the last 5 PL games he’s started in a row. Yet he’s had 1 good game out of that 5.

I literally pointed out 5 good games he’s had this season in the Morata thread and in this one, why would I go out and say he’s only had 1 good game?

Misunderstanding by the looks of it.  When you said 3 good games before the Liverpool match, I didn't know you meant the 3 games immediately prior to the Liverpool match.

I haven't read your post about his 5 good games in the Morata thread so would have no idea about that.

It did get to the point Baka would play a pass and people would say he had a good game, I know his been sh*t but we can't start saying he has had a good game because he played a pass.
