Would be hilarious to see Spurs gazump the board for  Llorente one day after Liverpool did that for Oxlade-Chamberlain.

 

Unbelievable if Spurs get Llorente after we have been linked with him all summer. Conte has wanted him since last season. We shouldn't have given any time for another club to come in and have their offer accepted. Looks like this might be another one to add to the list of failed transfers in this incredibly frustrating transfer window.

Wouldn't take the risk, Best increase the bid - do an Arsenal and go £14,000,000.01.

I don't even want and particularly rate Llorente but am worried that Conte will get pissed off so if it keep him happy, we need to get him. Bearing in mind Conte has good relationship with him, we have a good relationship with Clement and let Swansea have Abraham, I'm at a loss to see how we could possibly f**k this up.

Wilfred Bony set to have a medical at Swansea later today which will probably trigger Llorente being allowed to leave.

Spurs still favourites at this point. 

If we miss out on him it'll be a disaster. I have faith it will get done though.

Still plenty of time for us to match the bid, which I expect us to.

it then comes down to player preference.

Not sure why the club don't get the signing sorted months ago. Swansea would have accepted and gives them plenty of time to find a replacement. Guess it's just common sense.

There clearly is some underlying factor behind these issues because the fees are not even that big for these remaining players. If it is a stand that the club are making about underlying agent fees behind these deals then we need to make a public statement to that effect. If nothing else it will restore some credibility in the board that they have a strategy. At this stage it doesn't really matter whether we agree with the strategy or not we just need to know that there is one and we don't just have a team of oafs blundering their way around Europe fouling up every deal that Conte indicates he wants completed.
