They're trying to find 3 other fullbacks besides Kyle Walker and Walker should cost them 50m. No way they'd spend around 200m for 4 fullbacks

It's gone.  Fully expected and the board doesn't or isn't willing to get big deals done.  Stick to the 30 million pound type deals and the Djilobdojis and Falcaos of the footballing world.

Clearly Juventus were jerking Chelsea's chain...be interesting to see if the board still sell Matic to them...if Sandro is a no go then who else? Toljan?

I don't think never was the right word. More like if he wants out then Juve'd let him go. I mean they let Bonucci arguably the man their defence is built around leave to their historic rivals for 40m+benchwarmer.

I can concede that we may not get him this summer. Good for A. Sandro to believe that Juve could challenge next season because the way I see it, that defense right now isn't as stable as it was last season. Juve literally let 2 WC players go in 1 transfer window for a total sum of 40m.

Ok be disappointed not to get Sandro. No one knows the truth about what goes on at board room level, but I feel like Lukaku we could've gotten this done, had we had been more aggressive. 

Telles is a decent shout, but I dont think he will take us to the next level, certainly not next season anyway. I wonder whether kenedy will be trusted more to back up alonso, it would help with the foreign spots, and we could look at Sandro again next season. 

It just seems that Sandro has never pushed for this transfer to happen. I can understand Juve's reluctance to lose their third defender in a matter of days, but it's easy to keep knocking back bids when the player in question isn't even asking to let him go.

Am just a bit baffled why we waited till they sold bonucci too then put a 70m bid in, was this just another save face moment? Like lukaku situation.

I don't think we waited. This was just the latest bid they rejected. That's why I mentioned Sandro not doing his part being part of the problem. Clearly Alves and Bonucci made it abundantly clear they wanted to leave.

Telles isn't even up to Alonso's standard.  He will never make it beyond a 2nd choice role at the bridge.

Don't think Telles is an upgrade on Alonso tbh.

If we are just looking for squad depth we should look for someone home grown, Shaw, Davies and Cresswell I think would be good options to compete with Alonso, I also quite like Robertson but looks like he is heading to Liverpool and Bertrand would be decent back up.

Sandro and Alaba are the only 2 players I see taking that position to the level above Alonso, and it looks like both are unattainable.
