January 8, 20188 yr 08/01/2018 Day 167 Have we signed Alex Sandro yet? I'll allow Taylor Swift to answer this question: I remember when we missed our target, the first time Saying, "This is it, Marina you’re too tough," cause like The board won’t offer near enough When Juve said they wanted more. What? Then Juve come around again and say "Okay, he will go and we swear we’ll accept your transfer fee; trust me" Remember how Marina said she’d pay? She’ll say, "Too expensive," it breaks down, “How much for Aaron Cresswell?” Ooh we called this one early on Cause ooh, this time we’re telling you, We’re telling you We are never ever ever getting Alex Sandro We are never ever ever getting Alex Sandro You go talk to United, talk to Barca, and Man City But we are never ever ever ever getting Alex Sandro Like ever Edited January 8, 20188 yr by TomCFC85
January 8, 20188 yr Sadly this confirms we either have a sh*t show in Marina or that we are well on our way to becoming arsenal 2.0. Probably both.......yeah I can only see jose calling this in and getting himself a World class player and move the likes of Young and Valencia further up the field. Or maybe psg will pounce. So we are once Again getting f**ked by these people ha......What a way to send a signal that we are an elite Club and ambition.......im sure the likes of Eden, Tibo and Conte would love to stay with us this way......f**king pathetic this.
January 8, 20188 yr If we get Telles rather than offering Juve the Money or some add-ons etc.....then thats gonna be the final nail that we are heading the way we all feared. Absolutely amazing Roman aint moving a muscle anymore.......yeah we have won trophies thanks to Conte etc but he cant possibly be this blind can he?

I think Telles would be better value for us, but didn't someone just post that Porto aren't willing to sell anyways? Makes it a moot point, if true.

Edit: We really should just stop buying players and invest in cloning. We'll be crap in 3-5 years and stay that way for for another 10-15 years, but when we have 4 Azpiliqueta's, 2 Kante's, 3 Hazard's, and a Drogba then who'll be laughing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, be nice to get Sando but I still remember not having a clue who Dave was prior to him joining so if we can do another like that even better. Edited January 8, 20188 yr by Barry Bridges

If someone was after Azpi.....lets say barca, would you accept 50-60 for him? No facking way we would. Yeah im sure Telles would do fine here....I hope anyway, but Sandro is another animal alltogether. More experience....playing in a better League.....played in tough CL matches and only 26. Yeah he has not been his usual self lately but I think thats Down to him wanting away.....I really believe he would instantly make us better and give us a greater depth. If VVD goes for 75 then Sandro is a steal......if kyle Walker is 54 then 60 for sandro is not that bad. You cant just Count on being Lucky and grab yourself an Azpi Kante etc for cheap prices every season......
January 9, 20188 yr I've been thinking about this a lot... Sure Sandro is an upgrade to Alonso. I'm willing to concede that even though he hasn't played in the PL and is in a slump. But is he worth double the price? His production on field has to match the price tag. Right now Alonso is exceeding his price tag I would say. Sandro would have to come in and perform twice as well to be worth the money. I just don't think it's worth 60m when you really think about it, pragmatically. If you can save that 60m and in the summer bring in someone who drastically outperforms someone in our starting xi, like say, a world class midfielder to go along with Kante and Fabregas, I'd rather spend the money there. Or a top top striker to slot into our starting xi. 60m for a wingback is so much money, especially when Marcos is performing well. We need competition there for sure, I'm just not sure it's the right place to splash the cash. I'd love Sandro here, but I like that we are being careful with how we spend our money. If Sandro continues his poor form his price tag will only be lower in the summer...
January 9, 20188 yr I think differently and think we have the chance to sign a world class player and that chance does not come along very often. I like Alonso a lot and would hope he could be found another role either LCB or left attack yet still buy Sandro. By getting Sandro we have a better chance of retaining quality players and recruiting replacements when the time comes.
January 9, 20188 yr Wonder how many people on here would be pining for us to drop 60 mill on alonso if he wasn't already ours? A Defensively solid, intelligent, and goal scoring lwb, who has one of the best free kicks in the league....

At the same time you are losing an aerial threat, a set piece specialist and our joint 2nd highest goal scorer.
January 9, 20188 yr 60mil got Sandro seems like a poor investment of money. You spend that on strikers who score goals. Just get someone who’s pacey and can put a decent cross in, who also won’t mind rotating with Alonso.

I get it, Sandro on his day is possibly the best LB in the world...(possibly). But it's so much money when we already have a good player available to us in his position. There are more glaring needs, spend those big bucks on a big time attacker or stout midfielder. Those areas would impact us more, I think. Again, won't be sad if Sandro comes but the club are clearly on a budget...spending a large portion of that budget on LWB when we already have one of the tops in the league doesn't seem worth it to me.
January 9, 20188 yr If Thibo and Hazard leave at the end of the season, we will have no word class players left.

I think the difference is when we went for Hazard we still had Lampard, Cole, Terry and Cech. If those 2 were to leave it would be a very different scenario. Lets hope they stay a while

We need to buy players who improve our first 11 and he will improve our first 11.
