Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Featured Replies

The Gabon international has long been linked with a move to a bigger club this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain long looking the favourites, while the Chinese Super League also looked an option.

To a bigger club... Dortmund is Chelsea-size or maybe bigger.. [emoji5]? just a thought...

Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for £70m, according to Sky sources.

Huge opportunity.

Fake news. Sky just want people to put money on it. There are so many reasons why this would never happen.

The real question is why no other Clubs going in for him? That's Just something that's not right about it imo

Well here's a direct quote from BD president Joachim Waltze saying that they would take £63m for him...the big question is why are they so desperate to sell him? And why are there so few interested parties given his scoring record?

Seems to be the most realistic target, surely we could beat AC Milan and the Chinese club for his signature. I heard he had attitude problems, not get paid enough, huge fish in a small pond syndrome, who knows?  that's why Dortmound is willing to let him go, as much as they valued his goals.

He's totally the wrong player for us, all his goals are tap in his link up play looks shocking. once his pace has gone its gg

I'd have him in a flash, that pace on the counter, I suspect they want to cash in because of his age and silly prices at the moment, will be 29 in December, next year probably won't get half that so it's not surprising, at 70 not a value deal, belotti is 23 you have 6 prime years, a sell on Value, same with morata even at 90 belotti represents more value and morata at 75 a no brainier (right where was I, had to run and take a f**king spider out the house for a screaming missus mid flow ::clap2::)  yea so, I really like the idea of Aubameyang, if Romans willing to reach to have 2 great seasons why not, he would be an exciting player but if we are being sensible about it he isn't the best choice at the moment, but maybe since Dortmund are offering him up,  that price could get shaved a bit? Then I'd be insistent we should get him.

Ironically, Belotti and Morata seem like better choices to me.
Still relatively young, can shape their game to the system and more chance of recouping money if they fail.
As I've heard before, once pace is gone, it's gone.

I have the same reservations. So few suitors for this lad, it is baffling.

Just seems fishy, good player at his peak now but it seems a bit odd that no major teams are in for him. If he was so good, Bayern would have entered some sort of negotiation, it might just be the wages tho.

Given that Real is his dream and Real have 2 aging striker, it's a wonder why they're chasing 18yr old Mbappe for twice the fee when they could always buy Mbappe in the next 2-3yrs

We are worth more, make more, have more fans,  more shirt sales, more followers on social media by every metric imaginable we are a bigger club than Dortmund

I really have seen nothing on him but is not his whole play based on his pace? So probably like Torres when that is gone he basically will be too as a top player?

Pretty much. Players of that ilk tends to peter out when their pace is gone

He just turned 28 a month ago.

So is he or isn't he like the queen with two birthdays? I'm confused...

Yeah so if we were lucky we would get 3-4 years of good quality and no resale value. If we are unlucky his hamstrings go. Seems a higher risk than the other 2 to me.

Opta stats. Aubameyang's 'total score' (including distribution, take ons, chance creation, and shooting) is nowhere near the likes of Kane and Morata. He's a one trick pony, good for finishing but for crazy money that's all you get. Top top CFs assist when they're not scoring (a reason why Belotti is nowhere near worth his buyout clause)

Definitely, add in the fact about his assists and style of play and could well be looking at a Torres level mistake.
