I would also question why Emenalo is sat in the sun enjoying the match whilst there is urgent work to do elsewhere.

I think his work is done he will have given his list of recommendations, up to marina to negotiate and up to Roman to Ok the funds

The first 45 mins today were painful.  Seriously painful.  But they are just 45 mins of a 38 game season!!  The squad depth...  This is a hot and tricky topic, a lot of emotion runs just after a game so i decided to wait a bit and then comment on this after cooling down. 

Looking at the line up at kick off - [Courtois, Rudiger Luiz Cahilll,  Azpi  Kante Cesc Alonso, Willian Basthuayi Boga] - This line up is good enough to beat Burnley in my opinion.  I was actually excited when i saw this line up cause I wanted to see how Boga would do.  Cahill was and is the weakest link in the team at the moment - that was a silly tackle and as a result Boga's debut was cut to a mere 17 mins.  Basthuayi, Michy Michy Michy!!!  Oh Michy.  I really like this guy but damn.  Really damn!  Man is weak for a well built guy!  It's like - he really knows how to blow his chances!  Looks like he'll be back up striker always....Second 45 mins was much better,  the ref did nothing to help us but i think I have to give special mention to Ngolo, Luiz, Rudiger, Alonso.  These guys played really well.  In Luiz I heart, desire and talent.  A natural winner and this guy should be our captain!!!  People are always trying to find replacement for Alonso but that guy is actually really good.  I think we need a replacement for Cahill instead.    

Now - onto the main event!!  Squad depth...

I think chelsea was carrying a lot of dead wood.  the hot subject is Matic really.  My opinion is that we could improve on Matic, cause offensively Matic was not that great.  I actually think we did that by getting Bakayoko and its sad that he is not yet fit and we haven't yet seen him.  On a like for like like trade - I think we did really well getting a 22 year old for 35mil and selling a 29 year old for 40 mil (rising to 50 on performance bonuses).  I think we got a better player, More Pace, Awareness and Attacking abilty in this position.

Diego - I enjoyed the goals and winning mentality of this guy but hated the drama around him.  I think getting Morata was good and he will come good for Chelsea real soon.  

Rudiger, Christensen vs [Chalobah, RLC]:  I have no comment on this.

Overall I think we are just unfortunate to have the injuries we have right now.  Obviously we need to add depth but we should do this at the right price not the ridiculous fees going around.  A wing back [please get Rose or Oxlade] and a backup holding mid are needed. I think we will have a very slow start to the season but will be really strong from October onwards!  We need to build a team for the future and I think we are doing that right now...

And what is the point on building something, that could be broken in just a 12 months later?

If we don`t finish in the top 4, it`s a sure Hazard will go. Then we are f****. We have exactly 1 world class player and that is Hazard.

And it`s not just depth. You need quality on the bench if you want to win titles. That`s how you done it, if you play in the CL, or you are DOOMED.

To be real contender, real strong, we need a team of 17-20 ready guys and the rest should be youngster. So you could easily give a rest for your starter players on lesser match, and you can rely on your bench and could turn the match, when add quality from it.

Right now we have 12-13 players, that are 100% ready, and 2 of them are injured, and 2 of them is suspended. That`s why you need qualities in that bench, that`s why you need depth, but with qualities.

Every top team needs it.

We was selling too easy, and not get players IN.

It was huge mistake by the board, they done this yet again, it`s a repeat of 2015.

And i`m pretty sure at the end of the season Conte will gone. So the board fu**** hard.

Just like you can`t find top players easy, the same goes for managers, and it`s even harder there.

I don`t see anyone, who is even close to the Conte level, that could come here. And here you go, they will get someone like Tuchel, and then fired him after 1 year, and it`s goes again, but this time the rivals are a lot stronger and will be harder to bounce back.

I'd think meeting agents etc comes within his job description. We have 18days to put this f**k up right, it might actually be good to know everyone within the club is busting a gut to put things right. 

 

 

After taking some time to reflect on last nights game, yes we lost, but in the second half we were dominant with 10 then 9 men, the boys left showed real grit and determination. Alonso, Kanté, morata, rudiger and Willian were all outstanding. Over the coming week or so we need to make a few more signings and we will be ok. 

Current squad;

GK- Thibo & Willy (all good here)

CB- Luiz, Dave, Christensen, Rudiger, Cahill (happy with this but Imo Cahill needs to be last choice)

WB- Alonso, Moses (Dave cannot be our back up for Moses, we have nobody backing up Alonso, two players required, whoever we get Alonso deserves his starting spot, top player)

CM- Kanté, Bakayoko, Cesc (another top quality player needed asap)

Fwd- Willian, Hazard, Pedro, Boga (i'm ok with this)

Striker- Morata, Michy (Michy needs a loan, and we need to buy)

 

Who we need to buy;

2 X WB - Ox would be good to compete with Moses, Rahman would be good enough as back up, as long as he is back to his best soon.

CM - I like Drinkwater and hope we land him, alternatively we could go in for Rabiot with PSG clearly needing to sell, failing that If we get Ox he'd supply good cover. 

Striker- Dare i say, we keep Costa?? If not we need someone decent, not sure if he is attainable, but Mandzukic would be ideal. 

 

The next couple of weeks will be telling to which way this season will go. Im remaining positive, for now at least!!

Luiz went to sleep for both of Voke's goals if I'm not mistaken. Good goal and good run for the goal but he could and should have done better with his defending. Rudiger did look great though.

We need atleast 2 new CM. And they need to be good, and for WB, they need to be world class.

Conte need players to rotate, not just 20 men, 5 ot them youngster, who are not ready, and 5 of them low, low class, that is not good enough even for Championship.

If we get just 1 CM, if Conte decide to change something, with who we will be playing in the midfielder?

Right now we have Baka/Fabregas/Kante .... We need atleast 5 players there.

 

Whenever a member/graduate of our youth setup is sold there's always a vocal group of posters who worry that the sale will come back to bite us. Yet outside of Matic and maybe Bertrand, over the entire Abramovich era, it's rarely ever happened.

What did happen though,  when we handed Mourinho the keys to Chelsea transfers he let go of Lukaku, De Bryne and Salah. All of whom have gone on to strengthen our direct title rivals. A serious f*ck up the club is still playing for.

So more than most, I tend to sympathise with the likes of Emanalo and the Chelsea board, I think they have a bit of an impossible job.

However.......

 

It's difficult to look at this current mess as anything but their creation. I can't help but feel this is can only be due to overconfidence by those responsible for transfers at Chelsea. Not in themselves, but in the market. This isn't a disaster.....yet. But it could very very easily derail our season if we don't get ontop of this....fast. 

And now "the times" is saying psg has bought Mbappe! Won't be long before they are back for hazard and become the new Barcelona.

The sale would only come back to bite us if we didn't put in a buyback clause or first refusal, which the negotiator should have put into the contract. It's ok selling players but not to rivals unless for an extortionate amount of money, see RVP/Cantona etc2. There have been examples littered throughout the years of why selling to rivals is a bad thing but what's worse is not buying an equal amount of talent to replace the talent going out. We sold Lukaku and DeBruyne but didn't bring in anyone of that age and talent which if we did then we wouldn't be in this particular mess.

Now we have dozens on loan but only a dozen of players able to play in the starting eleven. That's very worrying

Why does anyone think we will get any players from our direct rivals unless extortion is involved...we are the only idiots that seem to allow our players to go to other top 6 teams.  Just as well go abroad for any decent talent bring them back and then sell them to direct rivals or virtually give them away.   Something has badly sideways behind the scenes.  

Not worried  would be great to just concentrate on champions league and let some of our young guns get experience  in the prem   theres a lot going on which requires lookng at new ground , so where do we play ? players out on loan getting experience  its not all about paying 50 million for sh*t spurs  players who arnt good enough to play for us just because  the market says we should

Relying on youngsters would more than likely mean an early Champions League exit and finishing outside of the top 4 of the Premier League. We have a few decent young players, but let's not kid ourselves here, most of them are Championship level at best.

All our best youngsters are out on loan anyway, we can't rely on the ones left behind.

We need 2-3 players in before the window shuts. tik tok.

We need 2 CM, and 2 WB atleast and should pray for no more injuries.

It wasn`t so hard in the begining, but board make it very hard.

No one would cry for Matic sale, if the board was bring a good replacement for him, cause Bakayoko is injured and we have zero depth there. If they sale and right away buy new player - no problem or done it before that, buy, then sell.

 

As per the title, the ones who aren't worried happens to be the only ones who can right things and they are the Board members.

They sold players without sufficient replacements until the squad is threadbare hence why should they be worried?  

They won't be sacked or replaced and no amount of criticism in forums and in the press will change things by one iota.  

Still baffled as to why we sold Matic, Chalobah and sent RLC on loan... Now we only have Baka, Kante and Cesc and Cesc is a different mould to the first 2. 

We seriously need some more CM's for squad depth
