You do know we WANT a CM. In which world is Barkley better than drinkwater?

Barkley as a CM would be just awful

Personally think he could be a very versatile player for us. He could play on either wing and also allow us to change to 352 and maybe just provide competition for Fabregas.

I'd prefer this signing over Drinkwater.

25 is probably the most theyll get now. They are in much the same boat as us with Diego. Koeman had gone out and said hes not going to be here next season and that he will be sold. They already bought his replacements, but interest in Barkley isnt all that high so they will have to settle for 30 or less if they hope to get him off their books

There is a reason why there is such a lack of interest in Barkley.

That is true but that does not mean they would accept such an amount from us. Spurs, united maybe, but I doubt us.

They would they are getting desperate i feel now. They don't want him to go for nothing.

Everton are apparently determined to sign Sigurdson from Swansea and have been very open about this. 

Koeman has essentially publicly stated that Barkley has no future at Everton. They're not going to penny pinch in a deal to sell him, they'll be content to get £25-30m for him knowing full well that he'll walk for nothing next summer because he has no intentions on signing a new contract.  

I keep going back and forth on this one. I would rather we give RLC a season at palace and see if he can come in and stake a claim next year, than fill the squad up with players who might get in his way, but on the other hand I don't want crap players like Drinkwater. I think i'm leaning towards Oxlade Chamberlain if we can get him, as he can be used in various positions as and when needed.

I don't think the Chamberlain signing would relate to us signing Barkley or not.

Who can cover for Kante? Barkley can't defend and we'd be much worse off if Kante or Bakayoko got injured. Instead of having a decent all rounder midfielder in Drinkwater to cover for the defensive roles, we'll be looking at Barkley or Fabregas to take up the role? It makes a lot more sense to sign a midfielder who is decent at defending.

I see Kante and Bakayoko similar. Both steal balls from the oppo and break play. Cesc is probably closer to what Barkley is only bigger, pacier and not with an impressive passing range like Fab.

For £25m stopping pissing about and get it done...he may not be the best but jeez he's available and got a pulse...

You want us to sign our 4th Choice FWD for 25mil pounds, despite us having 3 brilliant players in hazard, pedro and willian along with 2 of our most talented youth players (musonda and boga). 

Yet you were against signing Candreva for 25mil euros, despite the fact that he would be our 2nd or maybe even 1st choice RWB and a much better CM option than barkley can ever dream of. 

Dont know if I am missing something, but things just dont add up here. Forwards (not strikers) is one of our strongest positions, yet we should sign Barkley but dead against a decent WB option.

By the way would you call Barkley an everton "reject". And dont everton have the same/worse standing than Inter?

Yep...he's younger...he's home grown...he's used to EPL...he's available and anyone wanting to get out of Eversh*te can't be bad....

The price has dropped to 30m which means they'll probably accept 25 or 20 later. 

Typical of us to drag it out and save those pennies too. 

Just buy him. We can't do much better or much worse. 

I have a feeling a lot of deals will be done right at the end of the window!
