Barkley

Featured Replies

Neither Barkley or Drinkwater exactly have teams clamouring for their services, although at least the former has a few clubs sniffing around. Doesn't inspire me with confidence for either though, and both different types of players as has been stated. Still have no idea why we let RLC go on loan.

the 23-year-old midfielder has suffered a torn hamstring yesterday, and while the full extent has not been confirmed by scans just yet, he’s expected to miss at least six weeks. He’s not expected to play again until October

See the Barkley sale is hitting the news again today...personally I don't see why anyone would buy him now as his out till January with a hamstring tear that needs surgery...so why buy him now and pay his wages for zero benefit?...better to wait until January when he should be fit and above all cheaper to get...and wouldn't it be nice to see Eversh*te continue to pay his wages while his price drops and drops...ah Kismet...

Or offer 8 million based on the fact that he's out of contract at the end of the year, that way you don't open you're self up to a free for all. Thats if a team actually wanted him in general. Seeing as he's not a priority, try and pick him up on the free

This is more of a cluster f#ck for Everton than Costa is for us. :laugh2:

So they have a player who they have openly said they want to sell, but now he's injured bad so is worth naff all, by the time he is fit and able to prove the injury hasn't ruined him he will be about to run out of contract, unless they can somehow convince him to sign a new contract i can see him either going for less than 10 now or in Jan or on a free next summer. Wow this has all gone horribly wrong for them.

Can't see why the player would agree to take a new contract as he won't be fit till January and he'd just as well wait it out till summer to prove his fitness, and get a big fat signing on bonus and a hefty weekly wage in lieu of a transfer fee...plus he gets to give two fingers to Eversh*te and Koeman...

If RLC who is already our own player, plays a very similar style of football, is actually more energetic and talented can't get in our squad I don't see why Conte would want him.

Spot on Pedro. Lazy journalism IMO. No thanks

Let's be honest, with us it doesnt always matter if the manager wants him, we still sign them anyway

So Barkley coming here literally surprises me zilch

We have bid 25 mill apparently. According to Matt Law from the telegraph.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, Drinkwater and Barkley all signed by the end of the window?

That's quite the abundance of midfielders, I wonder what the plan is to use them all?

Would certainly fit with Conte's recent comments about liking the idea of having an English core to the side.

If all of these signings would happen, then we can definitely say goodbye to Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

English core to the bench lol

There were rumours that we would send Costa to Everton for half a season. Wonder if that's to help sweeten the deal for Barkley.

I'd rather go into administration than see Costa at another Premier League team.
