So scratch another wing back off the list. Who's next? "I will say this too, I will play up north. I don't know exactly when but I will get back up north and play some football somewhere. I have been away for over 10 years now and I don't get to see my mum that often." Come on now Danny, you're a pro footballer you could pay for a 5 star hotel for your ma in London 7 days a week and not bat an eyelid

Utd show an interest in Rose, or his agent sounds out clubs (ours included probably) and asks if they'd be interested, and suddenly Rose does an interview with The Sun saying he wants to go back up north, he wants to win trophies and he's not happy with Spurs' recruitment nor his salary. In other words folks, yes that's right, he's going to Utd. Spurs can either keep hold of a very unhappy player who knows he could be earning triple his wages at Utd, or they can get as much money as possible for him. That's right folks, you've guessed it, they'll plump for the latter. They have no choice. Once the player starts agitating for the move, that's it, Utd have their man. Utd are going to have a phenomenal squad. Let's not mess about here, Rose is a bloody good player, and he's approaching his peak. Just the way Jose likes it. As for Shaw, well I said at the time we should do a swap deal for Matic, but having thought about it, there are probably problems we don't know about. He's always overweight he's never fit and he's had three managers at Utd and none them have had much faith in him, with a lot of questions about his attitude. He was brilliant at Southampton and he's a Chelsea fan but he's had a bad injury and there are probably reasons why Chelsea won't go near him. There has to be, because he'd be the obvious candidate in our search for a LWB. Anyway, yes Utd will get Rose. There's no possible way he'll come to us. Please nobody entertain that idea. Utd's squad will be stronger than it already is. That's the downside. The plus side is Spurs lose both their brilliant FBs in one summer, and the rest of their team start looking at the money they're making and start thinking they could have some of that too. As for Rose? You really have to laugh. Talking about geography and trophies when everybody knows it's all about the loot. It couldn't happen to a nicer club, it really couldn't. The thing that annoys me the most is we are partly responsible for their phenomenal squad. I felt that before the Matic signing they were in a similar position to us, struggling to get their main targets (well apart from Luakaku, but he's only a Zlatan replacement) and not adding to their squad. Then we come along and solve all their problems by allowing Matic to join them. They could easily be still looking for a midfielder and even panic buying some average player who ends up being a massive flop, but now that looks more likely to be us now. We have no idea yet whether Matic solves all their problems. Comments on how he played against Real varied widely.
August 10, 20178 yr Love the fact that a lot of Tottenhams players are being linked elsewhere and that we keep being linked to their targets. People are moaning about the Chelsea board imagine being a Spurs can no signings and the potential for 3/4 starters to leave. With 1 already out the door.
August 10, 20178 yr Levy has absolutely no interest in ever selling anyone to Chelsea. It's not even about money, we could offer double their valuation. It would never happen.

August 10, 20178 yr I'd have Shaw over Rose too while we're on record. Much higher ceiling and not a detestable end of a bell.

August 10, 20178 yr Well on the bright side it means that Tottenham's first-choice left-back will likely be Ben Davies.

August 10, 20178 yr All these comments about how Matic solves Man U's problems He is a reasonable central midfielder, but limited in the fact that he is rubbish in the air, cannot make a decent forward pass and cannot use his right foot, along with few goals and assists. If Pogba couldnt solve their problems, how will Matic??

He looked sensationnal for the (4?) games under LVG leading up to his injury (which happened in the first European game of the season if I recall). Granted that's hardly a whole season or anything, but he impressed me at Southampton and I rate him still. Rose has been out injured for a long time as well remember - and would be a lot harder to prise out of Levy's hands. Edited August 10, 20178 yr by BordeauxBlue
August 10, 20178 yr We should put in a bid, the lad wants out and would be a great addition.. better then Alonso/Moses.

Is he single handedly going to turn them into Champions - no, but he will definitely improve them and thats something we shouldn't be doing for any of our rivals. There aren't many better in the league a what he does, he's been part of a league winning midfield twice, once without Kanté. Out of all the dross we've been linked with recently I would choose him over all of them. We should have kept him and Man U would have to choose from the left overs. Apparently we declined Utds enquires into Willian so why not Matic too. I just think its madness.

August 11, 20178 yr Danny is apparently ready to push for a move and Spurs have fined him two weeks wages to go along with it. Can't wait to hear what Poch thinks
