February 1, 20188 yr So second window in a row mahrez begs someone to take him and no one does. Wonder why.

To be fair, people do want him, but if Leicester aren't going to accept £65m plus a player for him, then there isn't really much more they can do. I do think Mahrez has cocked up a bit here though. By trying to force a move so late in the window, he's probably lost a lot of respect from his teammates. I wouldn't be surprised to see his form drop off, his value to decrease and his options of where to move next to be limited.
February 1, 20188 yr Given the ages of Pedro/Cesc - and I know they don't necessarily play the same role - I think this would have been a great move in January. Need to start thinking about life after some of these "older" players and life after this manager's, in terms of playing style.
February 2, 20188 yr I read on the red café that Mahrez did not insert a release clause in his contract unlike Kante.

February 3, 20188 yr Mahrez is a good player, but not worth 90 million. Would pay 60 million for him max.

February 14, 20188 yr My sense is that his mentality is poor. Very up and down and throws the toys out of the pram when he doesn't get a move. Pass. We need leaders not mecurial types. We have enough of those.

We'll see how he reacts this time around. He'll definitely move in the summer and i would still love us to go in for him.

I'm not saying that he's not a good player, and he'd be a great addition to the team, i'm merely saying that we should be out looking elsewhere. I also think that he is priced out of the Chelsea market at this point
February 27, 20188 yr 70m plus is way to much for him and if city are interested then we have no chance to get him anyway.
February 27, 20188 yr Id be shocked if Mahrez wasn't wearing the red of Liverpool come the start of the season. He'd be an instant starter there and a fantastic addition to there lethal attack.
March 5, 20188 yr If we want to compete with the likes of City & United we have to pay these fees, if they want 70 million for Mahrez we need to pay it for players of his quality. Mahrez would probably relish coming here anyway, it's not like he has further ambitions at Leicester. I'm still reluctant to signing him for a big fee but what can you do, we need players desperately. Edited March 5, 20188 yr by Slojo
March 5, 20188 yr It's a sad reflection on the world of football when people can keep a straight face when saying Mahrez and £70 million pounds in the same sentence.

Well look what Liverpool paid for a Southampton defender Kev, that's the way it is now. Bakayoko for 40 million will be considered cheap in a few years.

I’m the first to say I’m not happy with the direction the club is going in but everyone complaining about City and their signings just sounds like sour grapes and jealousy. We were once the big boys of the playground with money to splash and now there’s another kid with much more money, some of our fans can’t take it. Spot on, we just need to get on with it, as clubs go we are the 4th or 5th in line in the country to be able to attract players now sadly. Manchester clubs are well in front of us when it comes to attracting players, as are dippers, and y*ds are as well (new stadium, good manager and young team) we are on a par with Arsenal now . As for Mahrez joining us? Dream on, waste of time discussing it in my opinion, we won't pay 70 mill and as I said above, the other clubs above are a more attractive proposition. March 6, 20188 yr I'm living in a time where my own fellow fans want to sign an Algerian Joe Cole for 60m without even a smirk on the face or a hint of irony or caution. We all have our tastes; maybe i'm crazier for wanting to bring Robben or Ribery here on a free instead, while waiting for the perfect player so we can actually integrate a long term plan. Ribery - Hazard - Robben for 2 seasons would win more than Hazard - Whoever - Mahrez would in 5. There's equal if not better potential in signing some select players for peanuts, as opposed to going all crazy over a player just because their name is always in the media (like the people who wanted Bakayoko.) 100m on Bakayoko and Mahrez when Bayern have spent around £10 on 5 elite midfielders; Juventus peanuts on quality midfielders; Man City, yeah maybe 100m or so like us, but actually on good quality players. Awful transfer targets these days Edited March 6, 20188 yr by fiel
March 6, 20188 yr In the event of Hazard leaving this season I could see Mahrez doing a job for us. I don't think we would be his first choice though.
March 6, 20188 yr Leicester probably look at Coutinho who is well overpriced and think someone is getting a bargain based on that price. For me there isn't much in it and certainly would like to see him playing for Chelsea.
