Riyad Mahrez

Featured Replies

he would be a great offensive addition! He was relentless with Leicester when they won the league ! His linkplay with Ngolo Kanté will be perfect !! If you add Drinkvodka with him too, our whole midfield will do wonders with Hazard and Alvaro upfront as these three guys would perfectly know how to play together ! Plus, he'll be a great addition to the squad and a better option than Willian! Also, he might be available for under 45 million £, or at least won't cost more than 50 million £!! To me, this is the transfer CFC should get as it could dramatically enhance our "team chemistry" and once again squad depth: pedro and fab are in their 30's, Mahrez and Barkley are 24-25, they could be our future midfield. Plus, not a lof of clubs are interested in him atm... this opportunity might never occur again if next summer RM or Barça make a ridiculous 87 million £ bid for him ! Might not be the best, but definitely one of the finest in the midfield position and would absolutely thrive with us insofar as we tend to play more offensive than leicester!

ps : we could sell leicester Bakayoko in exchange for a good amount  ( joking of course ;) )!

Riyad Mahrez is likely to join Chelsea FC after revealing he grew up idolizing Didier Drogba. Can't be too sure if it happens during the current transfer window though. Mahrez is the perfect Pedro replacement.

Lets sign the entire 2015 leicester team while we're at it.  Is Huth available

they finished 17th this season :face_palm:... and we won the league that year !

As long as we buy good players I don't care whether they all come from the same club or not... I mean Bayern have raided all of their rivals since the begining of the bundesliga! Just like Real and Barça have done with other la liga clubs!! And people blame us for our transfers then ...

Huth would only be requirred to play right wing in a champions league game so it would be a pointless signing.

lol I will leave my mistake unedited.  But, you know which season I meant...and technically it began in 2015!

Indeed. Safe for Kanté, everyone else was already there I think!

We have to come to terms with the reality that we can't afford buying a lot of expensive players anymore. So, by that logic, Mahrez is affordable and a good investment in the first team. I agree that there's better, but these days players who perform well half a season are worth a minimum 85 million £ ...

A man can dream - but it's probably not going to happen.

That said - why would he go to Arsenal? They're cack.

Liverpool I can see but won't it be hilarious when their entire forward line f**ks off for the AFCON? When is the next one btw?

Imagine you're the board.
You're hoarding money for the new stadium.
You're in super penny pinching mode now.
You've just spent £15m for a versatile English midfielder.
Why even buy Mahrez?
Who are we even kidding?
They're not willing to fork out £10m more for arguably the best Left Back in the world, who like Marhez, is legitimately available.
What makes anyone here think they'll buy him when we've got Pedro and Willian.

Agreed. I don’t think we’re interested. Plus the rumours are that we’re more interested in a target man, a big tall striker.

We’ve had 1.5 windows to get him. We would have got him by now.

Would love to see Mahrez join, he'd be a perfect addition on the right, and edspite his age (27 next month) he is still definitely an upgrade on Willian and Pedro.

Would hate to see him join the scousers, we need to get him

if he is still available on deadline day and leicester offer him to us on a cheap (very unlikely) we may sign him just before the window closes!!

again if we want to portray our-self as a tier 1 club and we are waiting for a bargain like some fish market where at evening they sell everything cheap , i see we wont be winning any medals soon , seems we need new owner

Why.... well, with the fact in mind that both Pedro and Willian are 30+ and may be better off sold at the end of the season... And that here is a good chance to buy a quality player in his prime and available and going for a reasonable price.

I don't think it'll happen, but I'll keep dreaming. :)

Need a new owner, are you smoking crack cocaine?
It's one thing for people to diss managers/players but I'm not having someone chatting sh*t about roman, f**k off go support Man City you melt!

Willian isn't 30 yet

True. He will be, the start of next season, though. Neither are the answer, long term, and Willian will fetch a tidier amount, but personally, I'd keep him if there was a choice of only one going.

Because we need more goal scorers.

‘Because lifting the qualiity if the team is gpod for morale

because he is or was great value.

We been signing quantities instead of real qualities this season. Why do we need to sign Bakayoko, Drinkwater and Barkley? Ironically enough all 3 arrived with injuries, let's not forget about the OX we almost signed. We could have signed 2 of those 3, kept RLC and save the money to fund the purchase of Mahrez. Maybe money is not the only reason we aren't signing him, but it has to be 1 of them. I could understand Conte and Roman's frustration, we spent the money but didn't get the return we expected.

I agree especially the Drinkwater and Zappacosta signings, Ola Aina and Loftus Cheek can do just a good a job and saved ourself £50M quid.
