December 22, 20178 yr I hesitate to get too excited yet, but he's certainly a classy young player. Conte actually seems to trust him a bit too I think. I think if Conte stays here, Ethan gets his chance. But if we have yet another manager upheaval, it's hard to say. We've seen what's happened to our brightest young stars as the managers enter the Chelsea revolving door.

We've seen what's happened to our brightest young stars as the managers enter the Chelsea revolving door. Exactly this. More to blame for young players not getting a chance (and potentially coming top class elsewhere) than any director/manager is this club policy constant managerial upheaval. We've created an environment where is more beneficial for any manager (doesn't matter who) to trade a future world class talent for an immediate yet intermediate impact than to give a few years to develop said world class talent. Not many people worry about tending a garden they know they'll never be around to see grow. If CFC had the equivalent of Bubsy's Babes maybe 1 would ever get into the first team, and likely only if they did stellar on 3 consecutive loans. To be fair many other top clubs are like this but we are the worst for this behavriour that I can tell despite having probably one of the best riches of youth/young adult players.

January 19, 20188 yr To the tune of Electric Avenue "Down on the pitch, there's the defense There's lots of work to be done In the centre with dreadlocks Is our Welsh Wonder Son We've got a rock at the back, it's Ethan Ampadu And then he'll kick higher We've got a rock at the back, it's Ethan Ampadu And then he'll kick higher

The tune works well with his name, not too sure on the lyrics myself. Could also use agadoo
February 17, 20188 yr Quote No player made more tackles (4), clearances (4) or interceptions (3) against Hull, no player blocked more shots (1), and he did not commit a single foul. He completed each of his 30 passes, and has misplaced just seven of 179 in his last five games.
February 17, 20188 yr Huge talent. He'll probably be on the bench against Barcelona with a chance to feature. Especially if Conte goes for a midfield three.

February 18, 20188 yr @coco I think I read somewhere that to be eligible for the B List you have to have been at the club two years and be Under 21. Sadly Ethan doesn't qualify. I'm not sure we could have fitted him in as a List A senior player so makes sense that he wasnt picked. I think he would qualify as an association trained A List player next season as it would be his third year with an English club after turning 15. Edited February 18, 20188 yr by Spiller86
February 18, 20188 yr Glad someone understands why our best youngster cant play in our biggest game of the season.
April 18, 20188 yr Goes to tribunal today to decide on a fee we have to pay Exeter. Find it quite astonishing this sort of thing still happens. We can quite readily spunk £40m on a player like Bakayoko but despite all the Sky money and gate fees etc we have to go to a tribunal rather than just agree to pay a small club like Exeter a decent price? No wonder I'm falling out of love with football.

But come on, we are mighty Chelsea with a f**k knows how many million pound turnover and we are trying to fleece a little club like Exeter? It would have been such good PR - rather try and save a few quid at a tribunal, we could have done the decent thing and paid them a fair price for a player who is very highly rated and already an International player. Of course, if they were asking for a ridiculous £30M or something then f**k 'em!!
April 18, 20188 yr That's sorta my view on it. We have the money, we can be the bigger man, pay the yokels a decent price and get a bit of good publicity for a change.

April 18, 20188 yr Not my job to put a price on him, nor is pricing footballers in my skillset. If you want a daily price for reconfiguring your network or recovering your crashed Oracle database, then I'm your man. A decent price, taking into account his talent and potential as well as his age and experience. Maybe take a comparative look at similar products Edited April 18, 20188 yr by yorkleyblue further thoughts
April 18, 20188 yr If we pay Exeter anything less than £10m for Ampadu they've been robbed. He was starting to be a first choice player for them and we pinched him off of them, they deserve to receive a good fee from us and I wouldn't begrudge them it.

Corrupting tables at a whim, or failing to end processes and grinding to a halt.
April 18, 20188 yr I'm fairly sure we could grind this thread into a black hole of boredom fairly quickly if we tried.
