If i understand you correctly, your point is everybody would have looked good against Huddersfield. That was your only response to his post and it just shows what he meant with "toxic" behaviour. Downplaying the perfomance of Alonso. It was not harsh on your point but just why write it.

[emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]The toxic behavior actually is when people blame Emerson for being bad in his first EPL start in a game where every one of our players played bad, and they felt playing Alonso who have been consistently bad for many games including some of the ones we won.
Toxic behavior is also when Alonso played against the worst team in the EPL and we won because everyone in the team gave a positive performance after an underwhelming performance and you then judge Alonso to be a better player than Emerson based on that game. @slojo wasn't in support of any of them, he wanted both of them to be giving game time instead of Alonso just being the automatic first choice, so I agreed with him. My response was actually directed to most people who claimed (just as Slojo also stated regarding Toxic behaviour) that Alonso was better than Emerson simply because he played against the worst team in the EPL. Yes anyone would have played LB for us in that game and we still would have won comfortably provided Hazard and co step up.

Emmerson looks very one footed, good to see a couple of crosses and he seems competent in the air. Positioning and offside would seem to be critical factors for being a defensive player, haven; seen enough to judge yet.

I think having Alonso playing keeps Azpi further back so he can help the CBs counter an opposition break

We could of course move Azpi to the left and Rudiger to the right and bring Christen in as a CB.

Yes valid points yet then we have a left back that is virtually a left attacker as he cannot get back and a right back that does not go forward to provide more cover defensively to compensate for the left back being too advanced. 

Until we get decent replacements we will not be a balanced side.

Don't think he could do any worse than Alonso. Whoever City plays on right wing on Sunday will have a field day against Alonso. If form and attitude means anything to this manager, Emerson in and Alonso out.

I feel like Buck should have a talk with Sarri and straight up ask him "do you plan to start him on sunday?"

If Sarri says yes i suggest Buck hands him his P45 right there and then because the man has completely lost his mind at that point.

Emerson had a poor game against Bournemouth but then so did just about the entire team. Other than that he has been very good when called upon. I would definitely give him an extended run in the team at this point.

To be honest, even if he is poor against City in the final, I would still give him a run of games. Alonso isn't suddenly going get better under Sarri, so we may as well give Emerson a proper run in the team so we can evaluate how good he actually is. A game here and there isn't enough.

Give him the rest of the season and let's see how things go. One thing is for certain, he will offer us more going forward than Alonso has since September.

I would play him too, we need different faces against City just to make them think a bit.

Thought he was fantastic again today. 

Should start over Alonso every single game.

He wasn't fantastic. He was a left back. We've just not had one playing for a while. 

Obviously he should he starting every game. Alonso is far from being good enough to be a left back in a top side. 

Do we know where Alonso was yesterday? Was surprised not to see him on the bench at least. Injured/ill or just dropped?

I would guess dropped. There's a limited number of players you can put on a bench, Alonso wouldn't make the cut for me. 

He did the job, should keep his spot against Spurs. It makes a huge difference when you have a left back with decent pace, and willing to defend for a change.

Really want him to continue for Spurs. But 90 min for Malmo then 120 for Man City. Spurs on Wednesday possibly a bridge too far physically?

BTW I would rather play Ampadu at LB than Alonso at this point

I’m starting to think he’s had a falling out of sorts with Sarri.

He didn’t travel to Sweden for the Malmo game which was strange. Not like he neeed the rest, he’s rotated a lot with Emerson in recent weeks.

Then to be completely left out of the match day squad yesterday?

No way did Sarri need Giroud and Higuain on the bench. That was a conscious decision to exclude him.

Or maybe Sarri has just realised he's a little bit sh*t haha
