Welcome Emerson Palmieri!

Featured Replies

The full-back was withdrawn after just six minutes with what is believed to have been a hamstring concern, but the 25-year-old posted to Instagram that all was well.

He said: 'Very important victory today guys. Unfortunately I had a small injury, but nothing serious. Let's continue like this!'

Anyone notice him duck under the first goal from the free kick ? Needs to read the John Terry book on defending, chapter one 'blocking', "when a shot is inbound on goal, take out your massive testicles and throw them at the ball".

We pay these players millions, i want to see big testicles.

I think Jorginho was the biggest culprit there. Emerson didn't cover himself in glory either but don't think he would ever got there. Jorginho rushed the ball well but then instead of making himself big went as small as possible. Embarrassing.

You just like looking at testicles - football is neither here nor there.

It looked like we were trying to make their free kick routine look like some kind of magical trickery,

If you're not careful somebody will quote an old post or two of yours on the Alonso thread and post your favourite emoji....................

Now that Emerson is out for a couple of weeks why not play Azpi on the left and James on the right side...

We have Ian Maatsen, I am not worried.

The defence coped surprisingly well against a monstrous Liverpool front three with Alonso and Zouma playing in a four.

The pace of Tomori was a big factor I guess.

The pace and physicality of Tomori and Zouma combined really shut down that front three, because two of liverpool's front three (Salah and Mane) rely a lot on their physicality, both are strong and fast. Put two strong and rapid centre halves against them like Tomori and Zouma and it will naturally limit their effectiveness. I think we're probably fine playing Alonso provided Tomori is playing that left sided centre back role, because I can't think of any other centre back who can outpace the likes of Salah so consistently

Tomori played well but Alonso was still out of position and jogging back when caught out, we shouldn't be putting extra responsibility on a 21 year old lads shoulders. When it goes wrong Tomori will be the one that is blamed.

Alonso is one hell of an attacker but one of the worst defenders i've ever seen.

If you care to look through the opinions on any of the current Arsenal fan forums, they will see your Alonso and raise you a David "it's a penalty" Luiz.

I tend to concur with their views on this.
