Next Chelsea Manager

Who would be your choice as Chelsea manager going into next season? 213 members have voted

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

We cannot let Sarri go to Arsenal. It will be an absolute joke if we get stuck with Conte sulking for a year whilst Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham play football we can only dream of. Time for us to be the Chelsea of old and move in fast and quick on this deal.

Will cost the club a fortune to pay off conte and pay release clause to Napoli

His contract expires Tuesday. Plus we're used to paying off managers anyway. AVB made an absolute killing from us when he was fired, for example. I don't think we have any problem with that.

Also, it would be better for Conte if he just quit now before he's fired. He must see the writing on the wall right now, surely? Sarri is actually perfect for us and I'm confident we can be successful with him.

How's Sarri's English btw anyone know?

worked as a banker in London, so I'm guessing it's perfect.

Don't want to get hopes up, but hopefully it is happening.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed contract talks with Maurizio Sarri have broken down, saying that Sarri ‘has not responded to their contract offer and has now ran out of time”

Sarri has also spoken to press practically confirming his Napoli departure stating that ‘he won’t be managing another Italian side’.

Looks like it’s happening. So if Sarri’s release clause expires on Tuesday, surely we will need to sack Conte on Monday?

It would certainly be an exciting change to have one of the most exciting attacking manager’s in the world. Would love to have lamps or Morris as one of his staff too

I still have a nagging feeling that the board will screw up somewhere and keep Conte, missing out on Sarri and leaving us with no manager choice when Conte leaves next summer. I have little faith in the club with these matters.

What is the deal with his contract? Does it end on Tuesday or is his release clause ending on Tuesday?

His release clause.

If we don't manage to negotiate a deal until then, it will be a lot more expensive, and add the money we need to give Conte and his staff, then it's going to be a ridiculous sum. Probably half our budget. :laugh2:

I wouldn't want to think what's going to happen in that case.

Chelsea are due to discuss Antonio Conte’s future in the next 48 hours and Conte is expected to be relieved of his duties (Times) #CFC

“The general talk right now is that Conte will be released by Chelsea, and an announcement will occur by midweek.

I believe they want the replacement secured first. Sarri/Jardim the two most likely.” Simon Phillips

Sarri has gone back to favourite to take over Chelsea with the bookies. I dont want to get my hopes up but it could be happening, lets hope he gets the miracle of time to try and implement his style.

I'm sure he sees a large multi-million dollar check pinned to that wall, yes.

Some quotes from Sarri over the last few years

Sarri -

"Transfer Market is the refuge of the weak. It is for those who can't train their players. I'm a coach. Give me a group of players and I will coach them."

Sarri -

"I don't consider them coaches who are always moaning about transfer budget to buy new players. If you can't train the players in hand then you shouldn't be a coach"

Sarri -

"If I see my team defending and counter-attacking after 30 minutes, I'll leave the stadium and go home because I won't be enjoying. I don't like this kind of football"

Arteta is going to Arsenal. Sarri is coming to Chelsea.

That's my opinion. Cannot wait to see Hazard under Sarri if this is the case.

I'd love to see Hazard under an attacking manager like Sarri and I think Hazard would love playing under a manager like Sarri also

You just need to look at the effect that Sarri had on Insigne who plays basically the same position as Hazard. Before Sarri, Insigne had scored 11 goals in his last two seasons after Sarri took over Napoli, Insigne scored a total of 47 goals in 3 seasons

He went from being a player with potential to one of the best attackers in the League under Sarri's management

Mauricio Sarri will go to Chelsea and Carlo Ancelotti will replace him at Napoli, after weeks of negotiations. To be confirmed midweek at the latest (Marca)
