the only excuse for Conte tonight is that he reckoned Sunday away to Newcastle was the tougher fixture and we'd cruise past Huddersfield with that starting line-up

Yeah, and it only took him 54 minutes to figure out it wasn't the case.  Sharp as a Gillette razor.

Tough result to take. Plenty of criticism of the lineup but that team should have been able to get the job done regardless. If we had played like we did in the second half we would have won easily.

One thing is for sure Olivier Giroud is now our number one striker.

If he started Giroud, Hazard etc and we looked lethargic and lost/drew people would have been screaming for rotation/fresher legs.  I do think we should have started our strongest team but it's not black and white.

I don't mind one or two changes, but we made six of them, no way was there any need to make six changes to the team. We were in good form, the team were starting to click, making that many changes messes up chemistry.

I hope they sack Conte tonight. Maybe with Morris or frankly anybody other than Conte in charge we may have a chance in the cup final. And not just a chance but we might actually turn up and play some football that’s worth watching. With Conte at the helm we’ll play like Huddersfield did tonight, but without the heart.

Agreed, with him at the helm we have no chance in the cup final

Might get slated for this but regardless of the events this season, I think Conte should be at least given a bit more respect than he's getting.
Yes, the results this season have been bad and yes I think he should go but it just kind of unsettles me people name calling a manager that won us the league a year ago.

Conte has done a lot over the course of the season to warrant. It is not just this one game or his poor tactics. He has alienated players, thrown the board under the bus, not taken responsibility for his short comings with team selections, not bothered to learn from his mistakes.

Can somebody tell me.

Are we there yet.

Is this the bottom now. Please let this be bottom, i can't take much more of this sh*t

F.A Cup final soon.. We've had it a little worse.

Where was everybody else in those games and the many other times Hazard has had to carry this team over the line?

Roma home and away, Hazard was the best player. Atletico Madrid home and away, Hazard was the best player. Man Utd home and away, Hazard was the best player. Liverpool at home, Hazard was the best player. Every time we play Arsenal, Hazard is the best player. Then there are plenty of other games in past seasons against big teams where Hazard has had to carry this team over the line.

Whenever this team clicks, 9 times out of 10 it is because Hazard is playing at his best. It's not Hazard that is the problem, it's the other players around him who can't step up.

Football is a team game, if morata isn’t holding the ball up for him to do a quick one two, or if Willian is not in the team to take advantage of the space he created by drawing defenders at him, it really isn’t Hazards fault now, is it?

Morata played for the full 90 mins. How many shots did he actually have on target tonight.

I do not think this will happen purely due to financial considerations - pride is a very elusive and rare occurrence at our club these days.

That pathetic Spurs defeat is put into context now.

What a f**king horrendous season.

Yes, it’s not just today at all.

Our home form has been sh*t this season.

defeats to

Burnley

man city

spurs

Bournemouth

draws to

west ham

arsenal

Leicester

Huddersfield

i would say say we have thrown away at least 15 points not including today

I don't know why we can't find decent strikers. Giroud has done ok but he's 31 and has spent recent years coming off the bench for 15 mins. Today I saw us linked with Edison Cavani - again 31, he's been around the block but is he the future for Chelsea? Where's the successor for Didier and why can't we integrate young players - we've enough seasoned pros in the squad to support the introduction of young talent.

drives me mad

Conte to blame here. . Puts out a crap lineup to start when we should have put out our strongest lineup. All petty mind games by Conte. He doesn't want us to get into the CL. It's his final nail and it's directed at the board. Morata is a joke of a striker so why play him?. I will be glad when Conte packs his bags. He's a complete plonker by allowing his emotions to be greater than what's good for Chelsea. BYE BYE CONTE AND GOOD RIDDANCE !!!

Difference is due to our good form, we had a chance of winning this game. Many of those games we were really struggling for confidence or form

Stop being rational. I'm emotional ::MooNeY::

I am too, I understand haha.  Just wait for us to win the F.A Cup, Liverpool to bottle it against Brighton and lose the Champions league ;)

Trying to find positives, at least we can win the Europa league, or at least make the semi’s or the final, right? We’d only get knocked out early doors in the champions league again, with this lot.
