You don't get hate for saying they "might" win it, mate (even though we both know they will cack it up).

You'd get true hatred for saying you wanted them to win it,  but you're not as stupid or as nasty as to say something like that.

I deserve to get hate, I've just thrown up and called in a sicky for that very comment. The thought of Liverpool winning the league makes me bad enough as it is, I just have a horrible feeling.

For me, they've done some great business. However, since we've gotten Sarri things are looking up here and I wasn't fussed on the bloke, looks like we'll be getting a few more players in before the window shuts. And I can't see Hazard leaving.

If they still don't win anything then surely it truly is Klopp the Flopp?

Guy's spent more than most so will have nowhere to hide now

He's already spent a ridiculous amount and won nothing, right now he has failed although Liverpool are playing well and have improved under him. They're finishing top 4, but for the money he's spending lately he has to be doing better, they're spending more than us these days.

Nearly 200m spent at Liverpool once Allison finishes his medical.

Klopp has no excuses whatsoever to challenge for the title. I hate saying this and I know I'm going to get a lot of hate but I do have a feeling Liverpool might win it this year. They've made some fantastic signings and improvements. I can't see United winning the league, City should but it's rare a team wins 2 in a row in this current generation, the momentum in the PL is huge and so competitive.

Good on pool backing their manager eventhough he has won them nothing, I hope they fail of course but dont see them outside top4. Utd are no where near done buying.....city will spend on a midfielder......spurs will be spurs, solid all around and the refs will do them plenty favours.....Arsenal will be good imo.......

.......but winning nothing.  Except for the "Mawkish Victim of the Year" award,  obviously

They've been winning that every year since the 80's, and absolutely nothing else but that.

It's just a feeling though, I hope I'm wrong. On paper, it should be City winning the league again as of now until the window closes.

Everton close to a £50m purchase of Richarlison apparently. Marco Silva knows him. Good player.

Liverpool? I agree with Slojo. They have a chance and I think they'll definitely finish top 2. In fact, I'm certain Klopp will win them the league at some point. His record suggests Liverpool will improve with time, and they were pretty decent last term, playing some scintillating stuff at times. They've got an amazing attack, all purchased relatively cheap, and those thinking Salah will prove a one-season wonder will be proved wrong IMO. The guy's an amazing player and his manager produces breathtaking attacking sides. They've also done all their business early and they've bought well, identifying their weak spots. The manager has brought a lot of unity, harmony and strength. They are going to give City a good fight.

Edit: Those saying he has failed thus far are kidding themselves. He's building well, they are improving and they are in a very healthy position.

Yes potentially can be a very good player, but £50m. Insane

If I was the DOF for Watford FC, I would take these guy's suggestion on the transfer

I would laugh but they know he's sh*t and that's why they've dropped a world record fee on a goalkeeper to replace him.

Liverpool are showing a lot of ambition in the transfer market and have invested heavily in every area of the pitch now. I still think they look suspect in the fullback positions but it's a pretty decent first XI they've built now. Not much depth in the defensive areas and they don't have a quality back up forward if Firminho doesn't play.

They're running out of excuses when it comes to winning trophies now. They finally have a very decent squad, manager and striker. I think they will have a very good season, top 2 in all likelihood.

Karius has been garbage for a while. I feel a bit sorry for him, he has been getting a lot of flack from all angles (and rightly so) but there is no going back from what happened in the CL final, let alone his pre-season form.

Mesut Ozil has put out a rather lengthy statement concerning his being pictured with the Turkish President prior to the World Cup, the subsequent fall out and his decision to retire from the German national team as a result.

It's refreshing to see a footballer be so open and honest about a something and he's worded his statement well (in my opinion). Feel bad for him and the amount of unwarranted abuse he's got off the back of it.

Quite bold to call out the German press, FA and sponsors. Will be interesting to see what if anything more comes of it... Already a few high profile figures in Germany absolutely ripping into him.

I felt he should have kept well away from meeting a controversial leader (particularly that one given recent relations and events between the two countries) and referring to him as "my president" is a bit weird for a German national. It strikes me, having watched his abject performances at the World Cup, especially the South Korea game where he appeared to just be mooching about waiting to go home, that this is him getting in before he is simply not selected again to play for the national side. Amazing how many past it players now quit from something that they are only ever invited to do - once they stop being invited.

International football does seem to be getting weirder anyway. In Russia we saw two 'Swiss' players celebrating Swiss goals by forming the national emblem of Kosovo against Serbia. So are they Swiss or Kosovons? I suspect that they are Kosovons who realised that to play at a World Cup meant accepting being Swiss instead - with added bonus of belonging to a country of higher living standards. Just my opinion.

On Richarlison, one of the more interesting purchases for me. £50m is rather a lot for a young striker and by Everton terms Lukaku excepted, a hefty fee.

Da Silva obviously plans to play him and until that Watford and Everton spat seemed to be doing well.

He may surprise us yet looks an expensive gamble.

These comments are particularly savage:

“He last won a tackle before the 2014 World Cup. And now he hides himself and his crap performance behind this photo [with Erdogan].

“His 35 million follower boys, who of course do not exist in the real world, think he has played excellently if he plays a cross to a man.

“Whenever we played against Arsenal, we targeted him, because we know he’s the weak point.”  - Uli Hoeness

Ozil was born in Germany. He is a German citizen. He has a German passport. He doesn't have a drop of German blood inside him. His blood is Turkish. His parents are Turkish. He will have been brought up in a very Turkish way, with Turkish customs and Turkish food. He will also have been brought up in a very German way because he lived in Germany. He will have spoken Turkish at home and German at school. Is he German or Turkish? It's possible to feel both. He's German, obviously, but he may feel equally or more Turkish. I think he's right when he says he's German when he wins and Turkish when he's lost.

Watch Trevor Noah explain it brilliantly in this video, in relation to France's WC win ..

Another thing, I've always felt Ozil attracts so much criticism in England because he's "German", whereas if he were "Turkish", he'd be celebrated as a brilliant player, because people wouldn't expect quite so much. If you actually forget for a moment that he's German, you realise he's actually quite a brilliant Turkish player. I hope that makes sense.
