December 8, 20196 yr First goal was more of his fault than any, could come out to punch that floating cross out. He's too scared of meeting crosses, so opposition know any floating ball into the 6 yard box is dangerous, of course he's not helped by a defender who couldn't or not bothered to jump. His distribution is a bit erratic, but the third goal Zouma should have seen what's coming and made more of an effort to get to the close, rather than put his hands up and stop.
December 8, 20196 yr Average Keeper, poor leader. Comical how the 3rd one rolls slowly between his legs while he stands there trying to absolve himself of the blame. Drop him and pick Jamie Cummings. He cannot do worse than Kepa did today.
December 8, 20196 yr For every world class save he makes 3 Sunday league clangers, that cost points and games. Not even close to the standard that we should be seeing considering what’s been invested.
December 8, 20196 yr Its a long way back for Kepa now.. to win the confidence of fans.. he is certainly a long way off from the levels of a Cudicini, Cech and TC..
December 8, 20196 yr Christensen is sh*t, Zouma is being played out of position (LCB), James is inexperienced from a defensive POV, Azpi isn't a natural attacking LB, and Pulisic contributes f**k all defensively - there's room for improvement but willing to cut Kepa some slack here. Can't defend him, we must come to terms with him being one of the worst keepers in league, not many teams would swap their keeper for Kepa, run through all the teams and you can quite easily say I would rather their keeper than Kepa Edited December 8, 20196 yr by chi blue

Kid is class.
December 16, 20196 yr Dont think anyone else pointed it out but, along with not trying to claim any of their corners or crosses, the one time Kepa has something to do, stay on his line or come and punch clear, he does neither and is caught in no mans land giving Gosling the opening for the winner. His decision making is appalling. Edited December 16, 20196 yr by axman2526

December 16, 20196 yr Great picture of Kepa being a plum on this article from WAGNH: https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2019/12/16/21023877/chelsea-0-1-afc-bournemouth-player-ratings-slumping-to-new-lows Nowhere near making the interception, way off his line. If that is Cech or even Tibo they either clear out the ball and Gosling, or just stay on their line and catch the ball with ease.
December 16, 20196 yr Thing is Cech is at the club, I reckon sitting down with him and analysing his performances together and pointing out his flaws then coaching in that area can help him a lot.

But that's not Cech's job, he's probably very careful not to tread on any goalkeepng coach's toes.

December 22, 20196 yr Good to see us keep a clean sheet today, though Spurs had only one shot on target thought Kepa was solid and made a good challenge early on taking a knock.
December 29, 20196 yr As bad as Emerson was for the goal, I at the least expected Kepa to get a hand to the ball. Seems to be a keeper who is poor on crosses, doesn't command his box, poor communication and reactions.

Kepa has his faults and I can be very critical of him but he has no chance for that goal.

That would have been a difficult shot to get a paw on - maybe de Gea with his cat-like reflexes, but no one else in my opinion would have touched that shot unless they were lucky enough to have a part of their body in the way of the shot before it was struck.
December 29, 20196 yr I'd have to go along with the rest here. I'm no fan of Kepa but he had little chance there. Mr Tickle may have had a chance but that's about it.
December 29, 20196 yr Possibly harsh. I just have expectations of my world record fee keeper every now and then pulling off a save for a ball that is close to him. I never come away from a game really thinking how did he save that, keepers are supposed to have super reactions. Take a look at Tom Heaton v Norwich this week.
December 29, 20196 yr His feet shift to the left so in his mind he's made up to chance it that way so he couldn't commit to a flash save on the right. Aubameyang had the whole goal to aim at in close range so he didn't really have much of a chance.
December 29, 20196 yr The bit that stuck out the most for me is Rudiger getting mad at Kepa - Clearly there were a lack of communication which led Rudiger to booting the ball needlessly. Kepa really need to be more assertive.
December 29, 20196 yr No keeper in the world would save that it was point blank the defender should be dealing with that. Unless the keeper any keeper is standing in the exact position the header is aimed at he will not stop that.
January 1, 20206 yr Thought Kepa was ok today, made by my count three important saves that kept us in the game. Noticed he tried to punch the ball from one corner and take a catch that normally he would have left to other defenders. I suspect this might be the coaching starting to take effect. If so it is still a work in progress.
