I’d prefer to stick with Kepa and have a possible 2 goal deficit than Mendy with a 7

Yeah but you and Kepa got a thing going on 😉

Lamps in, Kepa to the bench I think is likely.

very unfair

Kepa should not be dropped. He cannot drop him based on his form 2 years ago.

he has been one of our better players under Potter

besides Mendy was the reason we didn't get passed Madrid last season....

Neither are good enough in terms of consistency Apzi.

What about his form since the new year? He's made multiple gamechanging errors and unlike Mendy doesn't have a body of elite work to fall on.

i wouldn't say he made blatant blunders

more like he let in a couple of soft goals

but he also made some excellent saves at the same time

I think Mendy is a better shot stopper and more commanding but on the ball he is atrocious

i have a bit of a soft spot for Kepa because of how he has come back from a dark period and i think he is a perfect professional and feels a bit harsh to straightaway get him out the team

with either goalkeeper i would be happy but still not 100% convinced of either

Maybe just give Slonina his debut at some point

I actually like Kepa as a character and my problems with him don't go beyond his performances unlike a certain other record signing.

However blatant or not there still mistakes he cannot be making, funnily enough one of his errors was against Everton was him booting it upfield when he had an easy pass to Chalobah (which then led to the 2-2) which should have been scrutinised more given it's his (in my opinion insanely overrated) distribution that's his major selling point over Edou.

I don't see how a player like Mendy, having cost us so many games, gets straight back into the team with such important games ahead. Particularly when he got us knocked out last time around against madrid.

Kepa isn't great - but Mendy is done here

The minute Mendy's dropped form last season (and even then he didn't make as many basic errors as Kepa has since new year, certainly not as many game defining ones anyway) there was discussions on whether to bring Kepa back in despite what happened the prior time he was number 1 and Mendy previously playing at a world class level.

It's more than fair for the discussion to happen in reverse now.

I was Mendy’s supporter right until he started making errors like that at Leeds, and even then I wasn’t convinced that Kepa was the answer. However, no matter the deficiencies of Kepa with commanding the box or long shots, Mendy’s errors were just plain stupid and not from shortcomings. For me, Kepa still keeps his place.

We do still need a good first keeper coming next season.

he's not trash but he isn't world class

Maignan for example kept Milan in the game yesterday

Kepa has improved a lot but he isn't going to be world class

a world class keeper prevents that second goal and maybe even the first one

Slonina is at the Club now, in the development squad I think although has a First Team Squad number 36 and is getting very positive reviews. Mendy has been told to look for another Club, so Kepa will drop down to "back up" and Slonina takes over the gloves !!

Slonina impressed for Chicago fire in MLS last season before he joined us. He is highly regarded in US.

He should follow the steps of Casadei, who is progressing very well. If PL2 easy, he is ready for a loan.

Much like Casadei, it should be the Championship, which is a step up from MLS.

With Santos, I think he has the maturity to already be a squad member.

Did well yesterday on a couple of occasions.. hopefully someone buys him .. not Chelsea standard for sure though.. too many soft goals and set pieces are a big problem.. can’t win the league with him in goal..
