We've got a new Kepa

Score more goals and no one notices Kepa infact he’s saves us point so many times last season

Given Mendy was slaughtered for mistakes despite them not costing us top four in 21/22 I'd like to think that wouldn't be the case but unfortunately you're probably right as despite costing over 3x as much and not having the body of world class work Edou does Kepa is held to a lot lesser standards.

If we do go with Kepa for the start of next season, let's hope they stretch those short arms between now and August so he might get a bit nearer to all those shots from outside the box that end up in the back of our f**king net.

🚨 #CFC and Inter meeting : Chelsea asked about Onana and Inter then asked for “BIG” money. Chelsea made it clear they are not paying crazy money. Chelsea also said NO as of today for Lukaku and Koulibaly loans. (@FabrizioRomano) #CFC

Good, please maintain that stance Todd and co.

Leave Inter in their own mess, and Lukaku training at kingsmeadow on his own.

some sense seems to be prevailing.. Inter and their crony practices have made us laughing stock in europe.. i thin kwe should ask for Onana + 20mil for Lukaku (40 Mil) + Koulibaly (20 Mil).. for me that will be the right valuation.

And also give him a step ladder so that he can actually catch the odd corner or two.

Do you think anyone would notice if we shrank the goals at the Bridge, I mean its not like it would cause our players a problem with their shooting, its sh*t now.

Undersized goal turned up in L1 or L2 last season. I forget which. Posts at one end had been sunk to deep into the ground. After a lot of faffing around, they played  the match anyway on the basis that both teams would enjoy/suffer the same way. Bring it on.

If we're prioritising other areas and/or waiting for the right fit to become avaliable I would begrudgingly accept one final season of Kepa.

If Pochettino has actually been sold on him for the long haul then, well, if I speak......

The one thing that every premier league champions always had was a World class keeper. As long as Kepa is our #1 keeper we won’t be title contenders.

Tbh put Ederson on Spurs or hell even us he'd look mediocre. His shot stopping ability is pretty poor and even City fans admit that.

Allison is really the only world class GK in the Premier League.

Absolutely agree, but if (to pluck a random example) Maignan doesn't want to come now but has indicated strongly he will be open to it in the future it's worth the short term pain especially as the title next year is highly unlikely. Will also give us a year to go over the market with a fine tooth comb (strong contingency plans if Maignan changes his mind).

The last thing we need is to end up with another Kepa and to effectively go through this all over again, could actually be worse next time as the one thing I'll always give Kepa is he's been a good character, the next one may end up as deluded and chaotic as Lukaku.

Kepa has 11% higher save percentage in comparison to Ederson and he made over 40 saves more in total. Put Kepa in Man City and he'll look amazing I guess.

Ederson's distribution is easily the best on the planet. Kepa's is a tad over rated bar the composure he has on the ball.

Ederson is simply another City success story in their scouting.

Ederson works for City specifically because almost every one of them are good with ball to feet and is another long ball outlet for Haaland.

Can't believe Kepa could finish his ridiculous 7 year contract!

Being title contenders isn't exactly a huge aim right now. Top half would be a start. Or Europa league.

Could be Gaga really impress Pochettino in training and he ends up number 1. Never know

TBF we know what we're getting with Kepa, can Slonina be THAT much worse? All he needs to do is lock the basics down and he should be fine. I wouldn't be completely against the idea of giving Slonina 25 games this season when we can because realistically we aren't going to challenge for the title anyway and we know Kepa is conceding 50% of shots from outside the box anyway. I remember SAF having a year of pain with DDG in net then they reaped the rewards for the next decade.

It could easily be Pochetinno trying to build Kepa`s confidence in case he`s all we have a the start of the season.

That is also what I'm clinging to.
