September 1, 20187 yr Tough first half, but the substitutions in the second half clearly made it better. We started the second half very well, Kovacic and Jorignho took full control of the game, Kante kept doing what he does best. Hazard had a very good game, few take ones, delivered some great balls. Big disappointments from Morata, Willian and I also not really happy with Luiz's performance. All of the players that came into the game, did very well to change the game for us! Let's hope the international games will be played safety and we will get our players back. COME ON CHELS!!!

Yeah I saw him play enough times up in Scotland back then to know that. To be fair he played in a very good Aberdeen side, which had won the European Cup Winners Cup in 1983.
September 1, 20187 yr i think we will see a lot of games play out how they did today, if we don't manage to get an early goal, we've just got to be patient and keep playing our football. We are improving with every game, the pressing today was fantastic, I also feel the defensive positioning was much better. Just need to be more clinical in the final 3rd. Roll on Cardiff. Hopefully beat them and West ham before we face a massive test against Liverpool.
September 1, 20187 yr Morata is a pussy and Luiz makes a number of sloppy mistakes. Today we were lucky but maybe next time unlucky. All that said I like watching the team and the points are on the board. Kantes best game of the season. Edited September 1, 20187 yr by ozboy

We play the dippers twice in four days, the cup game first, on Tuesday after the weekend, I wonder how many first team players will play on both sides, probably not many, but will sarri still be able to learn something tactically..city were brilliant with questions over their defence and Liverpool ripped them apart, going to learn a lot about ourselves in this game

Do we play a 2nd string to rest players, and not give any tactical advantage that klopp could use in the next game? Whoever comes out on top after that league game will feel very confident of mounting a serious challenge. We have home advantage so the onus is on us more. It will be a nervy game in the league, we aren't used to going into these big games playing open attacking football. Really looking forward to it though.
September 1, 20187 yr 2-0 and a majority of the possession looks comfortable. But they had the best chances before we took the lead and we looked vulnerable when they attacked. Luckily their finishing was wayward and Sarri’s substitutions turned the game in our favour. Giroud gave us a presence upfront and Pedro’s directness gave us an edge, albeit with a deflected shot. Still a work in progress. Our central defence lacks solidity and Azpi’s crossing was pretty awful. Alonso was terrific going forward though. Hazard, Jorginho, Kante and Kovacic is a pretty classy midfield. If Sarri can just sort out the defensive lapses and find a way to turn Morata into Diego Costa we’d be a formidable team.
September 2, 20187 yr Really pleased with the win, like the last match we just took our time and eventually broke them down. Sarri doesn't have an option B (yet) , just kept going harder with option A until it came off, and it's not much wrong with that. I reckon 70-80% of games this season will be like this, teams will defend compact and up to us to break them down. I didn't expect us to be on 4 wins after the transfer window shuts, but somehow we managed it, and that's a very positive sign. Hazard looked really focused, I don't see a player want to move on judged by his performance. The midfield is clicking nicely, apart from the first choice 3 players, we got some nice options like RLC and Barkley. Defence and striker role are yet to be sorted, but we have compensated well so far, let's hope players continue to improve, and I reckon they will. While all the pundits are getting hard ons watching liverpool, we are in the race without being noticed much, just what we need right now
September 2, 20187 yr Bournemouth went with the same spoiler tactic as Newcastle did, found it boring. Fortunately I recorded the game so could fast forward their play. Now that means I did not see their great chances at normal speed. We know our defense needs some work, that is still the case. Got to get used to the spoiler tactics but at the mo lady luck smiles on us. Own goal last week, lucky deflection one goal 1 today and them missing good chances. 4 out of 4 is better than I expected.
September 2, 20187 yr Also Willian starting over pedro is nonsense. Pedro is back with end product, it is baffling if we turned down 60mill for Willian. Kova looks a classy player, I think ruben looked decent. Harsh on Barkley not being involved. I think morata tried hard but sadly just lacks presence.

They seem to forget we have a big advantage over Spurs and Liverpool..... We know how to win the bloody thing.

September 2, 20187 yr just watched motd, they spend more time talking about the brilliance of the champions elect liverpool than they spend on any other team, and with chelsea what a fcuking surprise !! they focus on how alonso was lucky to be on the pitch !! when neither incident even warranted a frigging card !! rant over

September 2, 20187 yr I am so proud of our boys and Sarri has shut me up. I had fears over his appointment but what a breath of fresh air he has been for our team! This was a game that I had no faith we would win. They have beat us at home 2 seasons in a row and I thought any moment we were going to lose. The Newcastle and Bournemouth wins for me have cheered me up a lot and I am on board the Sarriball Train!!! KTBFFH!!!!! Go Sarri !!!!

The media pressure onthe fa and the refs will be ridiculous cause they have a real chance this season.
