Nothing left to be said. Truly embarrassing. Fourth year here and we start a UCL playoff match against PSG with two 20 year olds and Chalobah in defence. Chalobah who was sent to Palace for not being good enough in the first place. What is left to happen is for Disasi to come back and start in defence next season. That would truly complete the whole circus cycle.

Every football fan can see that it is impossible for a club to compete at a decent level with a young defence that are not backed by a competent goalkeeper either. Bar the Chelsea board.

What is for sure is that James and Cucurella will start the next season as full backs, which is a good thing. But if Colwill is going to be paired with Chalobah or one of the other young defenders and Sanchez or Jorgensen are the GKs, then there is no hope for this club anymore.

Too much f*cking about in transfers.

We could have had Huijsen, Olise and Maignan starting tonight if we didn’t mess about so much. I’ve probably missed a couple too.

I have absolutely no idea what to expect in the next 5 years. They definitely don’t want us to become a mid table team, they’d lose far too much money. This summer will tell us a lot imo.

If we sign the likes of Kvara and Yamal, then I guess we know they have the right intentions at heart. Yeah okay, maybe not superstars but definitely good enough to be starting. (Good enough to start for any of the Chelsea teams before Potter).

If we continue to buy 12 year olds then I guess we need to find a new hobby.

r/chelseafc - [ESPN Argentina] Enzo Fernández spoke about his future at #Chelsea: “I don’t know, there are 8 games left and the FA Cup. There’s the World Cup and then we’ll see”. With @moillorens on @ESPNArgentina

So the poster boy of the whole project likely wants out. What does that say about the project, huh? Will anything change? of course not.

You'd think he'd compensate for that by getting big, expensive shiny things!

I'm genuinely sorry that Eghbali can't get an erection. I don't know why the amoral talentless c**t Eghbali can't get an erection. It must be a terrible shame that Eghbali can't get an erection.

I genuinely don’t care about Enzo. Never rated him and don’t think we would miss him much.

Plenty of dissent at the Bridge today. “We want our Chelsea back”, “Roman Abramovich” and “we don’t care about Clearlake, they don’t care about us, all we care about is Chelsea FC”.

But, we’re winning the stats! And, we grassed on the previous owner! Yay!

I dont think there will even be a murmur at Blue Co HQ yet.

They will have assumed we had all but gone out of the Champions League last week after the 5-2 defeat. Probably not sure what all the fuss is about. That's the SD's department to sort out, nothing to be concerned about. They will sort it.

Down in SD World they will be starting to doubt their invincibility AND they know that they only have one plan. They have no experience of an alternative and in any case are still committed to the plan. It will come right it always does, keep the faith. We can always sack Rosenior if things get too uncomfortable.

LR meanwhile hasnt got a clue what to do, in fact he never did, and why should he? but he has a nice contract and suspects he may be out of a job sooner rather than later. So it could be worse.

Its not inconceivable that we scrape past Port Vale only to exit the FA Cup as soon as we meet a proper team, coupled with failure to win any of our remaining league games but i doubt this will change much.

We arent at the end of the road with this farce, not even close.

Next to no chance players of that calibre sign for us in our current state . Not competitive for the major trophies and we don’t pay the premier wages anymore.

Being very optimistic we are 2-3 years away from competing properly for the major titles. It Will require us hitting it out of the park with good signings but not the top level guys like Liverpool did under Klopp in early years/ Arsenal did to a lesser extent in recent times.

This was clownlakes original plan in 2023 but we are almost back at square one three years later.

This summer is Blueco’s last chance to salvage something from the squad they’ve assembled. Get the right manager and players in.

If not… that image very likely will become reality in 2 years time. Depressing. Caicedo and Colwill will hit hard for me.

For sure. Not in one go but over a period of a few years. Probably Enzo and/or Caicedo first.

Best we can probably hope for is that we are able to maintain an upper mid-table position until Clearlake are ready to sell up, and we get a more ambitious new owner.

I see where you're coming from but the thing is, we're getting battered with these players on the pitch.

It doesn't matter anymore who stays and who goes imo. Problem is way deeper than that.

I agree that these players will not flourish under a series of inexperienced, inadequate managers. I think unless we are willing to employ a manager with experience, and back them properly we won't see improvement. Unfortunately, that would require an almost total turnaround on the current Clearlake strategy. Maybe we will see Egbahli's leadership challenged after this latest mess ( a bit like how Boehly lose his position after the Potter disaster). There is no guarantee that the next idiot is going to be any better but something has to change and that starts with Clearlake and the SD's

The problem is, who is going to challenge Eghbali? Nobody involved here are football people. For them there is nothing to challenge. Post another massive loss in the upcoming accounts, throw us into more sanctions, transfer bans etc due to continuing and spiralling losses that can't be fobbed off as accounting adjustments or down to the previous regime, then I think they will come under pressure, but not about the football.

Doesn't this club have a single influential fan voice to tell these owners they are killing this club? Can't JT get a message to them at least?

The owners wouldn't care regardless.

Why are the government not taking the clubs away from American owners following the war they've started? Why is it only Roman that happens to?

If this had happened to Liverpool you can bet we'd never hear the end of it.

Liverpool under FSG and this current PSG team under Campos have one strategy in common, in that they targeted young players in the final year of their first major contract and offered a substantial wage boost. Basically, low transfer fee, higher wages. BlueCo have opted for the exact opposite strategy.

I know others disagree but my view is that transfer fees and wages are the same thing under FFP rules, doubly so with the new SCR rules. The slight difference is more than made up by the fact that higher wages = better players.

I tend to agree with @Bob stark 's theory that the real BlueCo strategy is wage capping to maximise book profit. High-performers are kept around for their early prime but will be sold at 26/27 and the profits reinvested in younger players to repeat the cycle.

BlueCo's thinking is that an expensive u-25 squad can repeatedly qualify for CL, establishing a profitable baseline. Any trophy challenge is a bonus but not the intended goal.

There is a narrow path to trophy success with this model, but it involves blowing up the current squad and surrounding the remaining players and Estevao/Santos/Hato with another Cobham golden generation. Unfortunately, they've blown that second part too.

Real Madrid have been sh*te all season and probably the most boring to watch of all the big clubs in Europe. Yet they knocked out City when everybody thought City would not even break a sweat against them.

Shows you how much a few important figures with experience mean for a club. Rudiger been past his best and 33 already, but led by example and kept the defence together throughout these two matches against City. All this while we try a wonder comeback against the UCL holders with Mamadou Sarr, Hato and Chalobah in defence...

The problem is manager imo. I have nothing against Rosenior, but if we get a a manager, same calibre as Tuchel, these players will become world beaters (apart from Enzo).

It does require a massive shift in their strategy so we’ll see. I don’t believe it will happen but something has to change. I would love it if we started with the pathetic sporting directors. And then Eghbali.

I don’t understand how Roman was forced out but it’s fine for Eghbali to stay. He’s Iranian isn’t he? A man from the country that’s bombing UK air bases. lol.

Eghbali is Iranian-American, so you'd think he'd be sanctioned on both sides of the war

ENZO IS GOING TO REAL MADRID, KLOPP WILL BE THEIR NEXT MANAGER AND HAS STATED HE WANTS HIM
