Now while getting him and his wages off the books is great for many reasons, that is actually an FFP loss.

Neves in 26 and quite good, Koulibaly is 31 and quite bad. 

Koulibaly is not bad in any shape or form. I am sure he could be succesful in Prem. We are such a mess you can't really fully judge him. His age and our situation sales drops the price..

My word these players are going to go from being rich to filthy rich in the Saudis.

We saw in the lockdown how actually useless all these celebrities, entertainers, and sports people are. All of them are so grossly overpaid for what they actually do. When push came to shove it was all the underpaid key workers who were actually important. The last 20 years have brought in such a huge wage divide that you wonder what's coming next ... civil unrest and a French-style revolution most probably .... off with their heads !

Yet it's only the sports people/footballers that get scapegoated for it for the most part, even by some football fans.

To give an example the pay for final series of stranger things makes even the most "ridiculous" sport contract look cheap (when scaled for work:pay balance) but many of the people moaning about footballers money have posters of those guys on their wall 🤣🤣

Big factor in the present inflationary mess we are in if you ask me. 

As soon as you pay people money that they haven't really "earned" then they start spending it without any sense of value or what they had to do to get it. It's all easy money. Hence paying £1,000 for a £50 bottle of champagne in some sh*tty nightclub somewhere seems "normal" for a good night out for these types ... doesn't matter whether it is a footballer, an actor, an "influencer" or a banker, they're all first against the wall in my revolution LOL

Surely it doesn't matter how rich any  owners are if clubs can only spend in relation to their incomes ?

I think that would be a bit low given Neves on his own was 47mill pounds.

Given the Saudis bottomless funds I would hope for 70mill combined.

That said,  if they get 50 for those and 60 for either Mount or Havertz aren't we over the line for now?

Another damper to the PIF Saudi influence on Chelsea agenda as the quoted prices have us barely breaking even if not getting a loss on these players. Think the goal for the club when it comes to Auba, Koulibaly, Mendy and Ziyech is just to simply get rid of them and their wages. 

The likes of Mount, Gallagher, Havertz, and Kovacic are the ones who the club will be looking to get profit on. 

 

We are losing an arm and leg trying to meet the demand of FFP, even selling Havertz\Mount\Kovacic to domestic rivals won't make it. There are very little profits to make when you have a deadline of must sell.  How about just go screw them, ingore the deadline and give the buyers something to think about? What's the worst case scenario,  a fine or points deduction? As far as I know, points deduction hasn't been doe at PL. Send the army of lawyers and take our chances, if it ever comes to that. It may take 5 years to sort it all out.

We are freeing up a lot of wages though which will help the club moving forward when the drastic FFP regulations are implemented in 2025.

I dont have an issue selling players that don't want to be here to a rival, although City are not a rival imo they are far, far too ahead of us to be one.

I do take issue with us giving rich clubs like City, United and Arsenal discounts though.

20mill for Kova to City is particular galling.

Roles were reversed just a year ago when we spent near 50mill on Sterling.

If Sterling is worth that at his age and with the amount of games he has played from 16 to a year ago then kova is worth at least 40mill pounds and Mount is worth at least 65mill imo.

Or to put it another way had it been using selling Sterling to City we would have got 30mill, and we would be paying City 40mill for Kova, Arsenal 75mill for Havertz and United 70mill for Mount imo.
