I don't want us to dominate the transfer window instead of the football. We have done the overhaul now lets give time and trust what we bought. Completely disagree. I think the squad is in desperate need of an overhaul, much more so now than at any point previously. We need to ship 7 - 10 players out in January mostly deadwood that we've signed in the past 18 months and replace it with actual quality. The problem is I don't trust the ownership to bring in quality players though so in truth I'm worried about any signings as I suspect we'll just end up with another poor group of players like we currently have but we have to take the risk as the squad we have now will never be competitive the talent isn't there. December 27, 20232 yr OkI see comments like " the owners getting their wallets out " etc etc as if their spending is unrelated to the club's finances. Isn't it the case that ALL spending by Todd etc is a debt for Chelsea ? I read that they are trying to get a loan of £250 million to finance further spending . This is on top of the £500 million or more loan that they took out last season . Others on here are far more knowledgeable than me on our finances, but is this going to be an issue for us ?

Pretty sure that is what f**ked Inter Milan (high interest rates) but TV broadcasting revenue in Italy is dramatically insignificant to the Premier League. Still, should we continue plummeting down the table consistently and have no Europe, we're f**ked. Edited December 27, 20232 yr by Sconnie Blue
December 27, 20232 yr There are suggestions Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali might not completely share the same vision for #Chelsea’s future, and with heavy spending and a failed off-piste accounting policy yet to deliver success, a forthcoming power struggle is not an impossibility. (@guardian_sport) Interesting..
December 27, 20232 yr I'm pretty sure ticket prices weren't raised last season due to the team's poor showing, however Todd did warn us in a club message that they would increase for next season. The continued lack of improvement is going to make an increase hard to stomach for most of us.

December 27, 20232 yr We may scrape enough points to survive but it worries me that there will not be any quality experienced player left when Silva leaves after this season. Sterling is not good enough for leadership and these young kids are more interested in social media than actually doing anything on the football pitch.

Next couple of transfer windows will be interesting. If we invest in some experience then it will be an indication of them understanding the flaws of the existing plan. If they stick to their guns add more young potential then we are fully in the mud.
December 27, 20232 yr Things could certainly be going better, but they are not so bad that I'm about to start believing vague click bait from a rag like the Guardian 🙂 "There are suggestions ... " LMAO. Who from ? The journalist that wrote the article ?

An experienced EPL proven centre-forward and a left back for me.
December 28, 20232 yr If we manage to offer Gallagher a new deal and sign an experienced striker, I'd be more than happy with the transfer window. Chances are we will be linked with some 60M wonder kids only Youtube knows, and sell Gallagher to raise the funds.

December 28, 20232 yr Speaking of Inter... Quote 💣🚨| Inter Milan are on the brink of bankruptcy; only the sale of Brozovic and Onana allowed business continuity in 2023-24. [@ilgiornale] pic.twitter.com/529oq1KMJK — Football Talk (@FootballTalkHQ) December 28, 2023

December 28, 20232 yr We've got to give the midfield time and hope for the best in January. The only position I do think we desperately need to go in for January is an LB cover and write Cucurella off as surplus. I can't stomach any more games with Colwill there and it's not fair to the lad, he's a CB and I feel as though we're wasting his potential having him out there. The more I watch Jackson and Broja the more I think I was wrong about those two. He's still young but I'm not sure I am confident with Jackson leading the line anymore as I used to be. Hopefully, we figure this one out and get a proper EPL striker, but January might be a bit tricky to get hold of one. Broja, I think he has talent, rapid pace, good dribbling, and can really look a threat at times, but he just isn't making the most out of his chances. Where are his goals? He barely manages a shot on target, at least Jackson can actually bag a goal every now and then. Might be best to put Broja up in the shop window and see who takes their chances with him.

Think we need a full back who is comfortable on either foot and either side. Like Dave was. A proper holding DM hard man, big, strong and tough, like Dennis wise. And a Striker of experience. 13 minutes ago, dkw said: Good , bunch of bellends. They will be desperate for the Super League thing to take off. December 29, 20232 yr The price rising, after such amazing football since the takeover! The nerve of it!

I think it was bound to happen regardless. CPO's still don't want to move away from Stamford Bridge so we're still going to be lacking in matchday revenue compared to others. Atmosphere going to be even worse.
