Wait, Marina was amazing now? Our structure was world class, is this the history that's being rewritte, after years of moaning about Marina, how were run on a whim with no plan, loads of dead wood, money wasted etc.

Amazing.

Fans moaned about Michael Emenalo and Marina Granovskaia both of who had more hits than misses. This new regime the only hits so far looks like Gusto, Badiashile and Palmer without stating the obvious about the age of the signings. If they all hit their potential ceiling then you are looking at formidable team.

Jury is out on everyone else even though some came with a high reputation.

Agreed. Some problems were already there. It was the previous team that allowed players like Rudiger and Alonso to run down their contracts when we still needed them. Likewise our recurrent injury issues with many players (e.g. Chilwell, Reece) started under the previous medical team. And who can forget that wonderful decision to play the friendly game in New England that led to a couple of promising young players getting long term injuries?

That being said the new owners made the predictable decision to rebuild pretty well all the key aspects of the club from scratch with their own appointees. So they should be judged on how that works out. So far not so well...

Was Kezman really that bad?

I’d take two goal Claude Makelele upfront over the current lot!

Was Leon Knight ever in the game?

Fixed that for you mate....

Badiashile? A hit? I think you missed a letter off!  Mendy-level clangers who turns like an ocean liner!

Pre injury he was one of our best defenders post injury he has struggled a bit but he has shown he has the qualities to succeed in this league that I call a hit, there are others who haven’t shown anything substantial so far.

Yea maybe I was a bit harsh, just another youngster that needs to learn from mistakes going forward! There’s a list of those at the moment!

@justwas on last week rethinking his opinion of Darren Wood

Franz "The Kaiser" Beckenbauer died last week Loz. Yes, a very good centre-back but we both know he was never in the same league as Doug Rougvie.

Am I the only one who sometimes during the middle of doing something, anything just have moment where you think:

“WTF is going on at my club”

You have a few minutes where you have HOPE, DESPAIR and finally DEPRESSION trying to rationalise what’s happening then you just go back to what you were doing.

Nope. The owners are not stupid people, they did not become very wealthy, and in the case of Eghbali and Jose F, control more money than Roman had, by being stupid. They know exactly what they are doing, and they are going to make a lot of money off the club.

Jose F outlined it pretty clearly a year or so ago when he said something along the lines of a winning football team is the aim BUT not crucial to their goal of making money.

I hope you are right.

He's not. Our owners are absolute morons in the football world.

There's some weird trend of billionaire worship in western culture were people tend to think people who make a lot of money in one area have intelligence and knowledge in every area.  They don't.

Boehly and Co are completely at sea here they're dangerously stupid but are arrogant because of their performance in other industries. They're going to lose an absolute fortune and they're going to cripple the club in the process.

You don't make money paying huge premiums for crap young talents infact it's the quickest way to lose money. I wonder how much of a return we'd get if we sold all the players they've signed?

I reckon they are minimum £350m down if they had to sell everyone today ...

I know we don't have RA and his wealth to underpin the club anymore,  so  maybe we should lower our expectations and expect pre Roman level Chelsea?

Which I would love

In the 7 seasons prior to Roman  ,the  Ken Bates Chelsea never finished lower than 6th,  ( with a 3rd and two 4th place finishes) including a couple of FA cups and League Cup trophies

For us to go from a regular top 4 club  and winning numerous trophies and  then  have our worst ever PL season within months is f**king unbelievable especially as we have continued spending record amounts..

No one is to blame though...are they ?

They didn't become wealthy by owning an English football club either.

Football is littered with wealthy ( therefore they can't be stupid) owners who have ruined football clubs.

And don't ask for examples because I don't know, but I'm hopefully right 😂😂

They will make sure they make money off the club, they got it at a cut price.

Will they build us a winning team? Maybe, maybe not. Will they make lots of money for their partners and investors. 100% they will.

Not so sure about that ... they paid the highest price ever paid for a football club - one that had lost £1.5 billion over the previous owner's tenure ...

They've already lost about £40m on Koulibaly, Aubameyang, and the dead loan fees for Felix and Zakaria, and that's before you even think about what they've overspent on transfers for the players that are still with us.
