Sarri is a die hard Napoli fan, would he really go to Juventus?

Benitez came here, right?

Didn't realise Rafa was born a Scouse, always thought he was Spanish for some reason.

I'm Sarri in and do plenty of away days each year, i'm not one of those mongs at The Bridge chanting f**k Sarriball and booing Jorginho.?

The traveling supporters did it too.

The fact that Sarri is the only manager (bar Benitez) who the fans have turned on like that says more about Sarri than the supporters. Because we don't really have a track-record of doing it.

Says nothing about Sarri's managerial ability, just his charisma because he doesn't run down the touchline like a child when we win a game so the fans haven't warmed to him. One way or another the fans are turning on someone.

They turned on Hazard and Cesc because they refused to believe the god that was Mourinho could possibly do anything wrong.

Turned on AvB and wanted him gone.

Never really turned on Rafa, just never wanted him in from the start.

There was a hell of a lot of moans around here towards the end of Conte's reign.

Other than the rough patch around February Sarri has done incredibly well this season.

We moan about our board making it difficult for managers but a lot of our fans are the problem too.

If the rumours are true I think it would be harsh on Sarri after getting us into the champions league and 2 finals.

Although it could be a mutual thing if Sarri agrees to go to Juventus.

If the club are really not going to appeal the transfer ban then they might be thinking Lampard would be more likely to integrate youth, and give the fans a feel good factor to mask over the fact we can't buy any new players for a year.

Don't think we're going to sack Sarri... But if Juventus really are in for him and Sarri's up for taking the job then I don't think Chelsea are going to stand in his way.

Bit of the old "terminate contract by mutual consent" statement on the horizon if this is the case.

I'm not sure Sarri is 100% happy being at Chelsea and I'm not convinced Chelsea are 100% happy with Sarri either

At the moment it seems like the Italian media is most convinced about Sarri leaving but I have yet to see much of the British media follow suit.

Personally I think he will leave regardless of how the Europa League final pans out.

I agree, and suspect it will be key in agreeing an exit strategy that both parties can live with.

And what about after the first 8 games?

It's Lampard. The fans are not going to turn on him.

Yeah because its worked so well for Ole. quick boost for a month or two then you realise why he was managing Cardiff a couple of years ago.

Lamps has been at Derby for one season and got them to finish pretty much where they're expected to.

Remember when Utd fans said they Ole was a good appointment as they would never turn on him? That lasted a long time then eh...

Always gonna happen, any Chelsea fan that says that about Lamps is an idiot as well. If he takes us down to the Championship are we really gonna be calling for his contract to be extended?

He's taken them to the playoff-final and may very well take them to the Premier League in his first season. After Derby County sold their best player from the year before.
Very few expected that from Lampard and a Young Derby-side. So he's done very well.

We never turned on Mourinho despite him having us in 17th place in december.

Of course one could come to the understanding that it’s time to move on if it doesn’t work out but would we ever he “F*** Lampard-ball” “We want you gone” chants ringing around SB with Lampard managing us? I don’t think we will.

Sold Vydra, but managed to bring in Waghorn and Marriott as replacement so not exactly a huge loss, i mean look at Vydra this season.

Not to mention the fact he's managed to get Mount, Wilson and Tomori on loan. Probably some of the countries best youth talent available. Derby's squad should have finished higher than battling for 6th on the final day of the season.

He did well to beat Leeds when it counted but don't forget he lost to them 3 times before that without even registering shots on target.

Nah turned on the players instead that year. Can't wait to see everyone booing the team if Lamps starts to struggle.Image result for three rats of stamford bridge

The most frustrating with the whole Sarri In or Sarri Out debate is that people seem to attribute success or failure to whatever they want to push their own narrative.  The 'Sarri In' people claim that everything positive is down to the manager and anything negative is because of Roman, the board or the players.  The 'Sarri Out' brigade are the opposite and the manager can't do anything right, but everything wrong is down to him.  It makes no sense.

My personal opinion is that Sarri doesn't have the type of personality or management style that appeals to me and makes me want to see representing our club.  I was also annoyed by the lack of flexibility and his constant, predictable substitutions.  But in his defense, throughout his managerial career, he's done things his way and whether that's right or not, it's what the board employed.  They knew what they were getting with him.  In addition, the type of football this guy plays relies on a certain type of player, certain philosophies, etc.  You could argue that it's impossible for him to implement exactly what he wants until he's had a couple of seasons and that he can buy whoever he feels necessary.

If we don't overturn, or at least delay, our transfer ban, then my personal opinion is that Sarri isn't the man to take us forward.  The reason being that he won't be able to sign additional players to build the team in his image.  So I think it'd be a case of him doing his best with unsuitable players until he gets sacked.  Not beneficial for everyone.  So I actually think Lampard and Jodie might be the way to go.  My only fear there is the current crop of fans expect too much and I worry that they'd be on his back if things weren't going well and I couldn't watch as we destroy a legend.

I've read things on this forum where people have said that reaching a final isn't an achievement, unless you win it.  There's a maximum of 5 or 6 trophies available per season for top flight clubs in England, so the vast majority of clubs won't win a trophy.  We've been spoilt over the years by being 'too' successful.  Now all the young crowd think it's a failure if we don't win a couple of bits of silverware every single season.  I for one am grateful just to be up there competing with the best teams in the country, and Europe.  Of course I want us to win, but that's true of every single fan in the world.  But we shouldn't take it for granted.

Let's just enjoy supporting a fantastic club.  Regardless of anything else.

I disagree. His squad isn't that great and although he's got some good loanees he really got the best out of them. Tomori wasn't much special for Hull last season for example.
His right-back is 18 year old Bogle who Lampard brought from the reserves to be a starter. He also didn't have a top striker to work with.

I've said before, I am all for Lamps & Jody gaining experience and doing their apprenticeship at Derby and I do feel now is a bit early for them. But I am slightly surprised at some of the negative comments on here for a club legend. Folk suggesting he hasn't done that great a job at Derby when this time next week, they could be a Premier League team again for the first time in over a decade.

And folk already preparing for Lamps not doing a good job and how he will cope if & when the boo-boys start. Have a bit of faith people FFS!! As much as I think it is too early for him to take over the reigns at Chelsea, if we do have to suffer a transfer ban, he might just be the ideal man to see us through it. Expectations will have to be adjusted by fans and the club alike, esepcially if we lose Hazard, and I feel Lamps & Jody would do a much better job of identifying which academy players to put in the first team squad as well as being much more ion touch with the club and its fanbase.

I'm okay with Sarri having another year, but if he does go, Lamps & Jody might just turn out to be a switch that benefits us, short and long-term.

I think Lampard is smart enough to turn us down at this point. He is far from being our calibre manager.

Out of interest, what makes you think that? Derby was his first job, but clearly time is no measure of success if people are happy to have Sarri here who has won precisely f**k all in his 20 year odd career. Sarri is no more qualified than Frank.

You'd think that but then the main reason he's in the running is because what he's done at Derby this season... Say for e.g. he turns it down and stays at Derby for an extra year and totally bombs.. Do you think he'd still be getting the offer for the Chelsea job?

As you say, if he's smart enough and loves Chelsea as much as we all think he does, maybe he himself will believe that it's too early for him at this current point in his managerial career and choose to stay for another year where he is and then see...

However, these offers dont come around too often, and it's currently situational that he's even being considered right now...

Does he go with his head or his heart? Tough choice.

Lampard would take the job in a heartbeat in my opinion. You never know what the future brings in football and if you get a chance like that, you quite simply take it.
