Mason Mount

Knew he would get booed.

We are usually good with our former players, but Mount leaving in the manner that he did has done him no favours. Fans aren't in the best of moods either.

James gave him a quiet applause though

Didn't like it one bit. Are we going to do the same when Gallagher undoubtably rocks up for the opposition at the Bridge next season? Because he's about go out the door in a very similar way to Mason and it won't be either of thems fault.

Ten Hags comments probably made things worse by saying he wanted to leave. By all accounts, it sounds like it was abit of club and Mount both playing games. I don’t think it was simply mount wanting to leave.

You see the clip of Enzo punching the badge in front of mount at FT? So funny, Enzo is a firey bugger

We booed him not because of the way in which he left, I thought the current owners did not treat him well, but because of his words when he got to Old Trafford, something like "we're finally home, dad". That hurt a lot of the fans, who had given Mount all their support, the boy who had a dream banner, etc. We have applauded most, if not all (I think only Courtois got booed heavily when he returned with Real Madrid) of the ex-players coming back to the Bridge, including Matic and Mata when they played for Utd. His words were a bit offensive and disrespectful of the Chelsea supporters, as if he had not been at home at this Chelsea, after all the support he got from us week in week out.

I also have to say that a few supporters, not many (4 or 5), around me clapped him.

Yes, it's more of what he said or did after the transfer that bugged most fans. We sold quite a number of players, didn't hear much from the likes of Havertz, Jorginho, Kovacic etc. They all said the PC things about the new clubs, fair enough, but nobody went as far as Mount did. He didn't get the best deal from the new owners, he wasn't the only one been rubbed the wrong way. But after what he said, he got the treatment he deserved from the fans.

Enzo also slapped the badge right in front of him and said something along the lines of "Remember where you are you poorly birthed arsehole".

Enzo has been with Mount for 6 months so maybe he really did see Mount's full character pushing for a move.

I see that there are still some people who still defend Mount by saying that he was pushed out of the club.

But Enzo saw him at Chelsea during 6 months and saw his behaviour, just saying. Don’t think he would react like this if Mount was forced to leave.

I'm in two minds about this whole situation.

Part of me is sad that Mount wasted an opportunity to become a club great and potentially a legend.

However, another part of me now has nothing but contempt for the way he conducted himself after his transfer. You made your bed son, so you can lie in it now.

Enzo's namecalling would be much more impressive if we knew Mount would have understood it!

Anyway, the whole Mount being booed thing makes me sad. Sure, he has not have helped himself calling OT "home", but remembering how he was adored by us and getting his banner, a legend in the making.... Sigh...

It's not similar though. Mount wanted to leave, Gallagher doesn't want to leave.

I don't understand why some fans insist that none of this was Mount's fault. He wanted to leave.

Then you have his weak forced goodbye message, which was just cringe worthy in all honesty. Put his and Azpi's goodbye message side by side and you will see who actually spoke from the heart. Only one of them was reading from a script. Then you had the whole video with him and his dad in the United changing room.

He was never going to get applause. He is viewed by a lot of fans as fake and jumped ship at the first sign of trouble.

You have James message at the end of last season which was clearly directed at Mount.

Enzo squaring up to him and then tapping the badge at the end of the game.

Gilchrist posting an image of him standing next to Mount saying "we fight till the end"

Mount has an incredible PR machine to make him seem like he was the one treated poorly, but not all of us are fooled. He will fit alongside other PR machines at United like Rashford and Maguire.

Personally I can't get too excited about it all.  He left, seems he wanted to and we got a good deal.  Why all the gnashing of teeth about it.  We've signed players from other clubs who've made it clear they wanted to leave and join us and didn't act in a particularly 'respectful' way to the clubs they were leaving. We don't give a toss about that so why get so heated when it happens to us.

It's a career for multi millionaires. They ain't like us!

Matt Law is the one pulling the strings. Definitely on the payroll. The amount of articles resurfacing of him being forced out is no coincidence.

United fans are saying the biggest discrepancy was image rights. United were always going to give it to him.  He demanded something absurd. Lad thinks he’s Beckham.

Look at this twat getting community noted again.

That's not true:

There was surprise when, instead of meeting with the co-owners to resume negotiations, Tony Mount found himself asked to attend one with Paul Winstanley, Chelsea’s new co-sporting director, instead. That felt like a return to square one — a suspicion which became reality when the family discovered the contract offer which had been so close to being agreed upon had now been withdrawn.

He was about to sign an extension and the club withdrew the agreed upon offer like some slimy snakes. And you know why we did that? Because by looking at the 22/23 financial numbers its clear we would have failed to comply with FFP/PSR and been deducted points if we didn't sell Mount so its clear what happened.

Did he down tools after he had been betrayed more or less? Probably did but who wouldn't.
Our handling of Mason very likely cost us Declan Rice too and I assume all of us would have liked to have him in our team.
