The POTY that was voted for by the fans? If that doesn't show that the morons abusing him were a (as I said all be it vocal) minority nothing will, especially in the case of the second one which lets be honest should have been Silva by a landslide.

I actually thought Silva should've won the first one by a landslide, I thought Mount had too many blips in that season. 2nd season, especially when Tuchel came in he was an absolute stunner. I wish him and Havertz carried that form over.

I'm not on social media, so I don't know what kind of abuse has been aimed at Mount (or others), but if he has been threatened, being affected wouldn't be so odd. And even if there haven't been threats, nobody likes to get abuse.

I think Mount gets it more often than others in fairness, and it's not nice. He doesn't deserve it. But I do agree with Sconnie also, in this game you have to have thick skin, you're in the spotlight, you get paid a lot, I hate to say it but it comes with the territory. A lot of football fans are just f**kwits. I hope for Mounts sake it wasn't because of the abuse he got from Chelsea fans, because as some are pointing out, the grass will not be greener in Manchester.

Proper Chels 🤣🤣 Give me a break!!

I think what’s happening is here is denial of reality by some Chelsea fans who put him on a pedestal as the next JT/Mr Chelsea coming to realise that was misplaced trust.

Said it before and I will say again Reece was and has always been Mr Chelsea!!

Mounts mugged you all off!!

All that's left now is for him to do a Jose and say the United fans are the best he's had after minimul/no games playing for them.

So I'm guessing Mace was always a United fan?

If the cap fits wear it... as I said before: Scumbag traitor and brown nose - he'll probably fit in fine up there.

I wouldn't be so quick to say any player is Mr Chelsea. You could say the same for other clubs too. Do we seriously think Saka would stay at Arsenal if City were to have come in for him for more money because he's "Mr Arsenal"? I doubt it. I have thought all along since this saga began a few months back that Mount didn't want to compete with Nkunku for his spot. He probably knew when we signed Nkunku that his days at Chelsea were bleak. He's been a good player at times, poor at other times. I am not a big fan of Mount as a player, but he's definitely a player who can improve Utd. He won't make them worse. I just don't fall into the Mount is amazing narrative. For me, Reece James has proven more important for us than Mount has. Do we think Ramires or Torres were amazing for us because of their goals in the CL? No. They had their moments too.

Mount was put on a pedestal because he's from the academy. It's never ideal to lose a player from the academy, but it is what it is. I also think Mount's father has a big say in his son's career and I reckon he sees him going to Utd as more of a benefit to Mount's image outside of football, like what it's been for Rashford. I genuinely think image outside of football is taken into consideration a lot by these players. Look at Rice, I saw him in a Muller Rice advert yesterday. Now he's at Arsenal he'll get that leg up in regards to image, way more than if he continued at West Ham. It's just the way it is. Football is a big business these days. Players and their management try to squeeze as much out of their popularity as they can. Being at Utd, the biggest club in England helps push that image further.

He’s never been my favourite player never drawn to him and now I know why.

Ahh yes, El Regreso's magical insight. Or perhaps a broken clock is right twice a day.

One pre season game and United fans have already taken over from where our minority left off, as was quite obviously going to be the case.

As I've said, I really hope for his sake one of his motivations for leaving was the social media stick he was getting, and now he doesn't have the safety net of a crowd that would back him unconditionally.

"#MountOut!"

And people put that much stock on our fanbase due to Twitter, cor blimey.

That pre-season clip of him nicking the ball and almost chipping the keeper is exactly what used to frustrate me the most. He would do all the hard work and then fluff the finish by trying to be too clever.

And me... his other trick being to lay it off to a colleague who isn't ready for it because they know Mount should take it on himself!

Perhaps Erik te Viking didn't watch him week in week out as we were forced to...
