June 10, 20233 yr I was extremely impressed with him to be honest, looks a level above our current keepers for sure.

I don’t get the hype around Martinez; sure he is a character and he makes decent saves, he just isn’t a modern goalie. Onana is probably the closest goalie to an Alisson or Ederson in the modern game. He is very good with his feet, press resistant and not a bad shot stopper.
June 11, 20233 yr He looked a GK to be, better than the ones we got. So a deal involving Lukaku going the other way, surely Inter will take the deal, right?🤫

Inter cannot be that stupid, Rom screwed them last night.

Two defenders directly in line with Rodri who bent the ball around them. He wouldn't have seen the pill till the last second. In fact, I thought Ederson looked shakier.

The thing with this sort of stuff is that it is a bit of a confidence thing.. when mendy started out he looked average with his feet, great at commanding the box and short stopping.. as his form dropped his weakness got amplified.. Onana also makes mistakes and he seems a character.. wasn’t he banned for 6-7 months? I like my footballers old school like Kante silva who are never in the news.. I would rather we try to rekindle mendy than spend obscenely on another keeper.. we seem to be finally getting a new manager after a fraud and a manager out of his depth..
June 11, 20233 yr There is no keeper in world football who is more confident and unbothered than Onana his technique is brilliant he is up there with Ederson as the best footballing goalkeeper. And i think Onana is a better shot stopper than Ederson. His reflexes are absolutely insane + he is a bit of a character who is aggressive and confrontational in a good way the only downside is that he isn't very tall but he makes up for that with his insane speed and agility and what you will see is that he will overplay sometimes which will result in some mistakes at times, but that's expected when you want your goalkeeper to play out from the back i would definitely love to see him at Chelsea he speaks French, English and Spanish (having come from the Barcelona academy) and probably a bit of italian by now he fits the profile perfectly. He can play a couple of years and then Slonina can be brought to compete with him Edited June 11, 20233 yr by azpi28
June 11, 20233 yr this is what i mean when he is a bit too confident, but in a lot of those clips he was still young in his first years as a first team goalkeeper
June 11, 20233 yr his personality sorry for the multiple posts i just thought that maybe if some of you wouldn't be convinced i would show you this and maybe you would change your mind

Remember the rumours of the Liverpool team a couple of years ago, or Lance Armstrongs Dr saying he had footballers, tennis players, and boxers as clients? The money in performance enhancing drugs and drugs to mask is massive, yet the money to detect drug cheats is miniscule. The cheats are always 2 steps ahead. The tiny punishments for this used to really bug me but now I don’t really care anymore. It’s like it’s a well known secret in the sports world and no one really cares anyway.
