Pulisic we probably got fair value. RLC personally think he would've done well at a lower prem club but was probably fair value. He'll have a class season and Milan will want £60m for him soon though. He's got a point though. Standard in Serie A is very poor atm. Bar Giroud I don't really regret letting any of them go.

This is why I was hoping we recovered atleast the conference league last season. As much as we'd have got "bantered" for it, a two legged qualifier vs Hibernian would have been perfect in getting the rusty players up to speed.

Assuming we got past Hibs we'd have had 8 games against below par opponents as options to ease players back. Nkunku may return during our brutal run in the Autumn, would have been a godsend if we had ECL games to get him some match fitness ready for those.

For Borja, loan is by far the best move.

Tomori has found his level in a pedestrian league. He embarrassed himself twice against us in the CL. Pulisic and RLC have also found their level. Freezing out Ollie at the time was one of the sillier mistakes.

September 3, 20232 yr We have been hearing for quite a while that he is apparently close to a return but still no potential date has been given. Wonder if it will be after the international break? We badly need a credible back up or partner for Jackson.

I remembered Ruben 1st game after his long injury. He was horrific.

We need to have patience with him, it is a horrible injury to get over. At the same time he has been a huge, huge loss to us. He is the big bully we need up front to make space for others, and chip in a decent goal return as well. A partnership with Jackson or Nkunku will be fruitful imo. Broja was both strong and very quick before his injury. Now? Let's see. If he can stay fit.

You want borja to play to get his sharpness back but whenever he play he will look terrible. It is similar situation with Ruben. My opinion, hopefully he can get few sub appearance and just go on loan in January and back with us next season
September 4, 20232 yr Wish he has a full recovery, but unfortunately nobody knows what his physical\mental status be like after such a long injury. It will be a while before he could play a league game. We basically have 1 fit striker for the next few months, a 21 year old in his first year in the league. It's fun to out bid Liverpool twice in a week, but we aren't going to score goals with 2 expensive CMs playing for the same role. Edited September 4, 20232 yr by icecoolguy22

September 17, 20232 yr Oh there is such an unfair amount of pressure building on him to come back like prime Harry Kane.
September 17, 20232 yr It would just be nice to try something different. Don't rush him, but each game Jackson is getting further and further away from the goal. He needs to be benched once Broja is ready.

September 23, 20232 yr Would love to see Broja switch it on for us, but even when he does return, he’s going to be rusty as for a while!

September 29, 20232 yr 2 hours ago, just said: 'Very quick': Paul Merson blown away by pace of 22-year-old Chelsea player vs Brighton (msn.com) Was encouraging to see those runs from Broja. We know pre injury he was considered the fastest sprinter in the squad (before Mudryk signed). He also was as strong as an ox and willing to put himself about like Costa would do. How he is after the injury we will see long term, but that 10 minutes was encouraging.
October 2, 20232 yr That was pretty much the best you can expect from somebody that has been out for a long time. Personally, I think he is better than Jackson and I would start him against Burnley if he is fit. His strength alone is major asset. Not everything has to be perfectly played into him because he can bounce defenders out of the way with his strength. Edited October 2, 20232 yr by Scott Harris

How that wasn’t called for obstruction I’ll never know.

October 2, 20232 yr He's usually very one footed too, something I have been critical of in the past. I can't say I noticed that much today.
