(Has anyone got vids of him scoring other than his right foot ?) - not being negative I see it as scope for development and improvement Pace and directness are great, he will scare the crap out of defences Leizpig posted a playlist of all his goals for them. Not a lot but there quite few headers in there. Seems to never miss penalties too, could be a pen taker for us if Jorginho isn't on the pitch for one reason or another.
June 20, 20206 yr I've been racking my brain to think who he plays like, Easy now, got it a Young AC Milan Shevchenko, 'The eastern Wind'
June 21, 20206 yr Excited to see how he fits in whether he plays ahead of Tammy or plays on the left. Nice problem for Frank to have though, and great to finally bring in a clinical finisher.

June 21, 20206 yr kids a stud should be bagging 20 premier league goals a season once he is settled in..
June 22, 20206 yr Reminds me that Torres when he first came to England, and probably a better player in terms of movement and finishing. We will need to be a bit more direct next season, expect those long passes from our own into the paths of speed machine like Werner and Pullisic.
June 22, 20206 yr Lets not put too much pressure on him by comparing him to Prime Torres and Sheva. Those were absolute legends in their primes. Lets hope Timo turns out half the player Sheva and Torres were in his prime.
June 22, 20206 yr Need to moderate our expectations I think. He's a good player but there are question marks over him transitioning to England. Last thing we need is huge pressure on him before he even moves.
June 22, 20206 yr Sheva isnt a bad comparison, especially if you compare the partnership he had with bierhoff, and the way Werner has worked off poulson this season. Id sheva was a better finisher though. For the money we have paid, if he can have a simlar impact as Anelka it will be a great signing, if manages to replicate the numbers he has put up this season on a regular basis, he will be one of our best ever.
June 23, 20206 yr Sky Sports with yet another 'why didn't Super Awesome Liverpool' sign Timo Werner article. Think that's the fourth one now. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12013047/timo-werner-why-didnt-liverpool-pursue-chelsea-bound-striker
June 25, 20206 yr A year ago, we were talking about signing Callum Wilson with the similar amount of money. No disrespect to Wilson, pretty sure we made the right choice not investing that money on him and lose out on Werner.

To get the best out of him we can’t be passing it around in front of the opposition defence. Would give anything for a prime Fabregas now.

June 28, 20206 yr He will be lethal on the counter if we could play those Cesc like long passes frequently after winning possession around our box. Expect VAR to have a field day with him, he's very smart timing his run against the last defender. For the second goal yesterday, he looked easily offside, yet by VAR he's about a foot behind the line, can't be an coincident if he does it every other weekend.

Trouble is we have loads of ball and teams usually set up to counter us, we need Werner to use his timing to beat the offside trap in the final third when it's tight and heavily defended with 10 behind the ball. Tammy is pretty handy on the counter, scored some great counter goals earlier in the season, but then dried up due to our high possession. I see Werner starting games and being more capable of breaking through parked buses, then Tammy coming on as the counter attacking sub option later on when the opposition opens up more.
