Buy reasonably and post in a formation, preferably in 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 as we have used those the most under Lampard. Here are 2 examples:

As per our 'trying to be an ersatz Barcelona' phase, presumably we will be looking to emulate the Liverpool team as closely as possible until the style of play ceases to be effective.

My read on it is something like this - expensive goalkeeper and centre backs, two suicidally attacking full-backs, three bastards in midfield, two forwards who basically run directly at the goal, and 'Mr Work Rate' up front.

So:

RB: Freak of nature youth right-back (probably James)

CB: Youth player who is actually alright but injured a lot/the tallest guy from the ones we have already (Tomori/Zouma)

CB: Very expensive guy at his peak (Koulibaly?)

LB: Trendy Scottish left-back from sh*thouse team (Tierney?) 

DM: A bastard from Monaco (Bakayoko?)

CM: A bastard who is weirdly good at scoring headers (Dendoncker?)

CM: A bastard from up north (Barkley?)

RW: Werner

LW: Pulisic

CF: Mount

24, Serbian number 1, 6 foot something, plays for some mid table french side and easily their POTY. Stats wise is very very good. Unthinkable he isn't playing for a better side next year.

They bought him for 5 million last summer. 

I genuinely think there are 10-15 keepers across Europe for under 40m that are good enough for Chelsea.

It does say fantasy?! This would make us serious title contenders come 21/22, with the amount of new players I’d give it a year for the squad to gel.

 

Realistically we’ve already made massive strides on paper with the signings we’ve made. I’d be over the moon if we got a new keeper, Telles and Rice. The others would just be ‘fantasy’ signings if we pulled then off.

If we do sign Havertz, I would have Oblak, Skriniar and Tagliafico

As a bonus would sign Milinkovic-Savic and Benrahma as well

We won't have a first choice Xl next season the schedule will simply be too mental to allow it, rotation is key.

Here's a few lineups I'd like to see over the course of the season (plus the cup Vs fodder one). I've mixed it with things I like to see but also a bit of reality. For example, I'm not particularly enamoured by Kante as a sitting DM but it's happening so no point trying to fantasize otherwise, also if we get Havertz, Rice and a new keeper over the line i think we may have to wait a year to get our new LB, especially if the worst happens tomorrow. If Rice does arrive then Kurt is probably his most suitable partner till we find a further upgrade.
