I think one point I missed would be that if (and it’s a big IF as we’re living very quietly) a deal is being done for Haaland and Roman is involved, there won’t be any information until it’s sealed. They’re dealing with a man of immense secrecy and I think it will be the only way in which a deal is struck; by showing his personal involvement.

 

I think Tammy may be involved in any potential deal.

Think Tammy goes to a Villa, or West Ham, or Wolves. Haaland will stay at Dortmund and then use his release clause to go to Real next season imo.

For the record I think the Kane deal drags on till then end and Spurs cave, getting a big fee plus Sterling and one other player in exchange. Not sure who the other will be, maybe Mendy.

I'll be totally honest, the sources that are claiming Real have an agreement with him may as well have come from Branston's, Heinz, HP etc. They have absolutely zero credibility and are fabricated resources in a response to the genuine writings of reporters who are a higher tier, more reliable and even personable source to Erling, Dortmund and this transfer. Alfredo 'hot days' Pedulla is probably one of the worst there is on the social media train for rumours. As much as I don't think he will sign for us, we should all stop reading tweets, comments and the like until there's something set in stone. We need to stop feeding the wolves!

Why do people keep saying Haaland and Mbappe will go to Real Madrid? I thought they were broke? If Real Madrid can afford the pair of them, then we should be able to afford a whole new team.

Let's stop the panic; far from it. If anything, I judge the reason why we refused to pay the significant fee for Hakimi as a sign that this money will be invested. I genuinely think he is the main priority this summer. They will be working behind the scenes incredibly hard on this. What is very interesting is that there has been no direct statement from Dortmund's camp since these rumours started. Without doubt there is something going on behind the scenes. Watch this space. Last summer Werner was off to Liverpool and multiple sources claimed Kai Havertz was destined for Madrid or Bayern. Both ended up at Chelsea and both were done relatively behind the scenes. 

I've stated that it's either this summer or not at all and a part of me genuinely believes that he will be this summers signing.

@Gol15 we never had a chance anyways mate. Right from the get go his camp let it be known through the usual channels that he did not want to move to us, only an "elite" club, and he sees us as a "small" club and a lateral move from Dortmund. He is a fantasy signing, nothing more.

I don't know if this is the case! You see he is without a doubt going to be the player who moves around Europe. I see no reason why he wouldn't want to potentially take the step here before moving to Madrid akin to Hazard. The quotes about 'elite' clubs were most probably fabricated. I have to iterate they said the same about Havertz. Whilst I'm not entirely optimistic because of the fee; I could see it happening. This project we have with the squad we have; he will know he's the missing piece. He will know if he comes he knows he is the main man. I think you are right about Mbappe, free transfer next season. Barca snap up Haaland for his release fee to not be outshone.

Dortmund won't lose out on an extra £65/70m on his release fee. They just won't. They will take the cash IF we meet their offer or they like what we offer. I will be honest, I had an immensely pessimistic view to the UCL final. Swore to myself and everyone it was an absolute pipedream we'd beat City in the final. Then we won 1-0.

Why Barca? The allure of stepping in to Messis shoes and playing in a less physically demanding league for him to dominate and pad his personal stats.

Plus you have to be fair, historically they are a huge club, same way United can still attract top players. They are not what they were, certainly dont have a manager to hold a candle to Sir Alex, yet top players chose them still.

I wouldn't be surprised if Dortmund is looking at the Haaland situation like this: yes, they could make an additional 65/70m by selling him this summer, but... if they keep him, qualify for the champions league next season, and also make a decent run in the CL this upcoming season, that could offset the amount they would lose by waiting a year to let Haaland walk. So, if that happens, they could potentially bring in even more money than just selling this summer.

Gone very quiet on the haaland front, and pretty quiet on incomings in general. Very different to last summer, where we seemed to be constantly progressing. 

Hakimi is off the psg, which is a shame imo. I thought he couldve added something extra to the attack, especially against those low blocks. 

Sancho looks close to United, i dont think that has ever been an option for us. 

So we are looking to Haaland to fix our goalscoring problems. 

If Haaand is a step beyond what we can do financially, will it be better to go with what we have, or bring in a player with potential? 

Daka, Vlaovic, Isak, Jovic, Silva, Ings, etc Could turn into a master stroke, or could end up another Batshuayi. 

If we dont do anything to improve the attack, will there be a lower expectancy on Tuchel to challenge for the title?
