Can someone please explain as to why our defence prefer to shuffle the ball backwards or sideways instead of driving forward when there is a ton of open green space in front of them....it drives me nuts...is this a coaching thing or simply down to the individual players?

Another game against a decent side without victory. 

Looks like Spurs added to the list of Liverpool, United and Saints. When we play a half decent side we just cannot buy a winner.
